His claim to fame is car karaoke. It is funny.

I don't know whether Ellen is a horrible person or not but I do wish we would let her fade out rather than go for blood. The reality is that being a jerk was synonymous with being a celebrity for the past 4 decades. Now we are having a reckoning about how being horrible is a bad thing. But this is a new concept. Being a diva used to be proof of status.

James Corden is also a horrible person!
As for Ellen, she allegedly wrote a letter to her employees saying that she is sorry that abuses were happening. But, the whole second part of the letter was a threat and criticizing her employees for not doing the job as she liked it and that this will have to change.

Steve Harvey's letter seemed to be more reactive, though, like he had a legitimate reason for it. And I'm no Steve Harvey fan. From the memo, it sounded like he was being ambushed with people wanting to speak with him, and wanted them to do appointments instead. A reasonable request, tbh.

She’ll spin and deflect by making herself the victim of cancel culture. She’ll go into hiding a la Dave Chappelle but only for a year. She’ll re-emerge saying she needed therapy after she was bullied to the point of losing everything—drawing parallels to when she came out. Then she’ll be the poster child for cancel culture railing against it while calling for everyone to be kind. She’ll launch a new line of be kind merch when she re-emerges.

Her celeb posse will support her, led by Jen Aniston.

She won't re-emerge. Neither will Oprah or Jimmy K or Piers M.

They are done . . .

Wait. What's this about Oprah?

I agree. Steve Harvey's move may seem cold, but to me it was drawing a line after too many people wanted inappropriate access to him.

Ageism

No, it's really not. It's the same reason all the male talk show hosts quit. All of them quit in their early 60s, Johnny, Letterman, Leno, on and on. Past a certain age you just look creepy and out of touch with pop culture. Ellen has looked that way for at least 5 years.

The Kate gal from SNL seems perfect, but I doubt she wants an every day job. She can just do one comedy movie a year for the same $, right?

Fine. But why the ageism? 21 years younger doesn’t make him funnier or a better boss.

I would watch that every day! But yeah, I don’t think that would be challenging for her.
