Solidcore in phase 2

Such a huge contrast between the leadership reputation and the actual coaches. I always assumed our studio was a franchise, with the manager having a bigger stake in the management and finances of our location. She treated the studio and its clients in a way that gave off that vibe of personal investment and pride. If Solidcore is alienating these employees, there is a deep talent pool out there for other studios to tap into. One thing I liked about the article is that it gave an unqualified statement about the flipped machine arrangement’s failure to comply with the requirement that fitness equipment be spaced 10 feet apart. Thank you. Who at SC came up with the ridiculous idea to just flip the machines and pretend that was good enough?

Yes. This!

Anne expects 150% buy in from her staff and then doesn’t hesitate to cast them aside. Have you ever taken her class? She demeans clients too. The quality of coaches and studio management in DC has gone way down in the last year and it’s no secret why. There are a few OG coaches left but between the cleanliness issues and the toxic culture from the top down, it’s a tough sell for me to give them my $300 a month anymore. And I’m closer to 750 classes than 500. Sad.

The buzzfeed article needs it’s own thread. I’m underwhelmed by their covid response, but now definitely done with them. Love the method, but I’ll wait until there’s a competitor in my market.

I don’t know what I would say in another thread. I’m a little ill right now thinking about how much money I have spent there.

I’m surprised a competitor hasn’t moved in.

What reason would she possibly have for taking her pants off in a corpora retreat?

I love the workout and (some of) the coaches. But it's been obvious to clients as well that the business has become all about the bottom line such that it pushes clients away.

There is now a video statement up on Instagram. It’s interesting.

There is—SLT. But I don’t know if they’re in the DC area.

It’s not just SLT, it’s all the Lagree studios. As someone who’s tried Lagree, it’s a pale, pale version of solidcore. I’m not saying I’ll go back to the latter, but I’d rather do something else entirely than subject myself to a watered down version of something I really love(d).

I think it was a mistake....she doesn't come off well. Also really seems to ignore allegations of abuse and she pivots to mainly talking about herself.

ooooo look at the Solidcore United instagram page. Looks like Anne is in major damage control--tons of people committing in support of her.

I agree. She basically says she doesn't understand how the allegations could have been made, which sounds like she's denying them. She doesn't engage with it at all - more of a "sorry if you were offended" kind of thing
