Well, that doesn't sound good.
I hope solidcore can find a way to keep their business going safely during covid. It is such a great workout. I miss it.

I honestly think their best bet at this point is to find a buyer. I have zero confidence in their leadership, for multiple reasons. I miss it, too, but as long as the pandemic is going on as it is and they refuse to protect their coaches and clients adequately, I won't be back.

You're probably correct.

Solidcore machines for every home! It’s the future.

Ugh, no. The people—in person—is what makes it so great. Their leadership are utter fools to treat their coaches as expendable.

^^And I say that as someone who loves her Peloton. It’s not the same at all. I need real human support to get through that torture!

Agree 100 percent!

I so miss it. The accountability of signing up for a class and getting my ass kicked (and loving it.) 300 classes (over years.) But I just can’t go. I dislike going to CVS when I need to go, can’t justify an indoor packed class.

I have 600+ classes under my belt and I’m not going back to the studio anytime soon. Still doing the occasional at home class although no DMV coaches are doing those anymore. It’s the best workout I’ve found (for me) but it just feels way too risky and like a PP, I’m not 25 and feeling invincible. I’m now closer to 50 than 40 and have to think of my family too. They also terminated my monthly unlimited account with no issues. Hoping to return eventually though! Fwiw I wouldn’t go any group workout that’s in an enclosed space at this time. Not sure how you do spin, HIIT etc safely now.

Omg - Solidcore just shifted public messaging gears big time. They went from telling clients how they’re taking covid very seriously and taking lots of safety measures etc. to saying there is no evidence covid spreads in gyms. Weirdly trashy from a business that bills itself as upscale.

Check out their fb or ig pages. It on there and in a format that is too difficult to share. Maybe someone else is smarter than I. It’s a letter to governors telling them all the reason gyms should open. It’s also pretty disingenuous bc [solidcore] is in a tiny space and many traditional gyms have much more space.

Funny how in my city (one of the cities with exploding case numbers right now...), it was just a few weeks worth of gyms being open before nearly every other fitness instructor/trainer in town tested positive. The gyms all had to close for a few days.

In one boutique-style fitness class, 14 people out of the 20 who attended tested positive.

Oh FFS. Literally no one with even the faintest understanding of how this thing spreads thinks that gyms are safe. Come the f on.

I love it, but frankly, I don't think gyms should be open anywhere right now. I mean, maybe in rural Wyoming or something, but not in any of the solidcore markets.

Solidcore announced that a few studios including downtown Bethesda will have half capacity classes. Will this change anyone’s mind on attendance?

Truthfully, it was one of the suggestions I made on the survey - particularly since the classes were usually only half filled anyway. Don’t know that it will change my mind. I’ve fallen out of the habit of paying so much $ for fitness.

Not mine.

At this point, it's about the company overall and their appalling handling of this situation. What would change my mind is completely new leadership, and the pandemic being over (or much better contained than it is now).
