Here come the young moms to justify the fact that they spent the best years of their lives chasing kids and changing diapers while the rest of us traveled and lived it up. Awww.

And now I'm 43 and both kids are in college while you have kids in diapers! I win. We travel a ton.

You hated that all your friends were having a blast in their 20s while you sat there feeding a baby. And it still clearly bothers you.

I planned my kids. I nabbed a hot millionaire. I was the lucky one.

But still you are 43...
And your 20s were spent on poopy diapers.

Traveling as a middle aged married couple is never going to be the same as the experiences you have traveling when you’re younger. I don’t know if it’s winning or losing. Just completely different experiences.

I travelled when young. It sucks when you are not rich. Now, I travel in luxury.

Ok you are a troll or dense.

It doesn’t suck at all to travel when you’re not rich. It’s filled with highs and lows and there are so many unexpected moments and authentic connections with culture and people along the way that just don’t occur in luxury travel. Because you’re paying for them not to occur. (I’ve done a lot of both kinds of travel.) But I agree those non-luxury experiences are ones you’re probably not willing to do as a middle-aged person used to a certain type of life.

Well I had children in my 20’s,30’s and 40’s. All of it was great for me both physically and mentally. You just get more secure in your knowledge as experience and age increase.

Yes and I would have been 43 whether I had kids young or old. Thankfully, I had them young and now I have freedom.
I wouldn't have been further ahead if I wanted. In fact, I would be behind.

I traveled while I was single, young and hot. It most definitely did not suck. You’re 43 and no matter how much money you have, you’re not young anymore and you’re fooling anyone. Enjoy, fellow middle aged lady!

Why do you assume I am trying to fool people into thinking I am young? I am a mother of two adults. I am definitely not young. That's why it's shocking that people have kids as my age.
I had a few trips to I was young. It doesn't compare to travel now. Yeah, I had some good memories but I would have been fine without travel too. I wouldn't delay such a major thing like kids for travel.

Why is it better to sound your 30s on poopy diapers?
I used my hottest years to get the best guy. Looks fade as you get older.

If you have kids at 40 and if your child chooses the same thing....you will be dead by the time you have grandkids.
MIL had DH at 25 and she was barely 50 when we had kids, she was such an active grandma.

Really? I'm sure you'd find the energy. Keeping up with all the school aged activities at 50 would be a struggle? Not for most people.

I genuinely think the people in these situations, as a PP stated...it keeps them young. Having tweens and teenagers in your house keeps you much more plugged into pop culture, young people, etc. It is what it is. Every baby at every age is going to have pros and cons.

If you had a baby at 44 you would be 62 at their HS graduation, then you have 4 years of college after that. I'm 54 and my youngest will be graduating HS soon which is a bittersweet thing for me. But, at the same time, it's sort of nice to have a certain amount of freedom again. The idea of having a kid in elementary school now really does not appeal to me. Not because I don't think I have the energy at this age to raise a child, I think it's mainly the very wide age gap between the oldest and the youngest that would be hard.

I can see having a first baby at 44 easier than I can see having another baby after my older kids had already launched. That just seems draining to me.
