Levi is a biblical name?

It is. But they state that they named him after their favorite snake, whose name was Leviathan. Read the article.

Oh. I’m not paying for WP, so I can’t read.

Yes you can. Read in private/incognito mode.

On the contrary, I'm think this is happening more and more.

There needs to be a public consensus on it because teen boys have become even more lethal since Columbine.

Or maybe its that in the past...they were sent off to war didn't have the opportunity to be family murderers?

WHITE teen boys. This is an epidemic of white teen boys. Not teen boys in general.

Which brings us the fact that this guy's parents were neo-Nazis who also kept guns in the house. I normally don't criticize folks experiencing tragedy, but this story is a Turducken of effed up rural white culture.

I bet he didn't mean to kill the child. I wonder if he meant to kill both his parents. Obviously its all wrong, but wow. Just a horrific situation.

Maybe he felt killing his sibling was an act of mercy.

Why are you finding a justification for murdering a child?

He knew he was going to kill his parents and didnt want the 6yo to end up in foster care

I'm not sure of who got shot first but it wouldn't surprise me if this boy shot his little brother first to devastate his mother before he shot her to death. He then waited for his dad to come home and discover their bodies before he shot and attempted to murder him, too.

This boy must have been really angry inside to want to hurt his parents like that. I don't think he was showing anyone mercy, including his little brother.

They typically are. Much more than here.

just so you know, this was actually brought up here the very first day, and I assume was deleted because there was no evidence to back it up. I know because I saw it in the morning, was curious if anyone had additional information but had something I was doing midday, and came back that evening and couldn't find the post. I had a a bad feeling that it was true - guess WaPo just confirmed.

Four classmates told The Post that Levi described his father as racist. A Facebook page belonging to Norwood is adorned with a notorious white supremacist motto known as the “14 words”: “We must secure the existence of our race, and a future for white children.”

A close relative said Norwood was upset that Levi was dating a black girl.

This month's Atlantic has a great article https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2020/01/the-miseducation-of-the-american-boy/603046/ that convinced me that the boys aren't the problem, we are the problem. We tell our girls to be strong and capable and have an expansive view of what it means to be a woman. We tell our boys never to hurt people, to respect women, etc-- we send them the message that they are a threat. I was stunned while reading this that boys have trouble identifying what they like about being a boy, that they feel so limited emotionally, and that they were so worried about being accepted by everyone.

I have a 15 year old boy. I hope he doesn’t feel like a threat. I do hope he sees gender inequalities in life and does what he can to change that.

Tbh, I don’t what I’d say about what I like being a woman. Life would easier as a man imo.

So what’s your point?

Not the PP but the mom spent all 2019 posting about the six-year-old. And in 2016 he posted that he ‘hated babies’. His little brother would have been nearly 2 then.

I’m guessing the younger kid got a lot of things and opportunities he didn’t growing up with teen parents.

I'm also quite a bit older than my sibling. My parents didn't have me young but due to being new immigrants, they were in very bad financial shape for a large portion of my childhood. By the time my sibling was born, things had turned around significantly, so my sibling grew up fairly privileged.

Never in a million years would it have occurred to me to even think in that direction. He is a psychopath.

Were you kicked out of the house at age 18? Most immigrant families I know encourage their adult children to stay and save money well into their late 20s.

I bet this kid however was being asked hard questions by mom and dad about college next year or military enrollment. Basically life plans. Meanwhile he knew his younger brother would be coddled with parents much better off for the next twelve years.

That’s just my take after reading it was a teen pregnancy and seeing the mom not acknowledge the older son at all on social media.

I wasn't kicked out, but I was expected to be in full time school AND to have a job. There was a good amount of pressure as not going to college or taking a gap year "to figure things out" as some of my friends did was not acceptable, and neither was not working and "focusing on my studies". I commuted an hour each way near daily to go to a nearby university, and while I had a place to live, no one was paying for my car or phone or anything else besides a roof over my head. I took 15 credits and worked 20 hours a week as an office admin. Things were different for my sibling - living on campus, no job, provided a car - but again, I am not a psychopath so it didn't occur to me to lash out.

Pp this isnt about you.

I guess after reading the background on the case/family, my theory is the dad shot at Levi due to the fact he was not obeying him and going against his racist beliefs by dating a black girl. Maybe the dad is a bad shot and hit the mom and younger child on accident. Being he hated(s) Levi already and because if he is racist then he could easily be a moronic idiot and a hot head, probably one who feels he “rules” the house and you will follow his rules or else. Probably shot at Levi who took off running in fear of losing his life. Dad accidentally shoots wife/other son and blames it on Levi who isn’t around to give his side of the story. I thought I even saw an article or maybe it was the dad’s online posting which have since been removed quoting him as saying he got a few shots off too. None of us were there so all of this is speculation. Only Levi and his dad know the truth and what really went down that evening and as we all know, the truth doesn’t always come to light. Sometimes lying assholes get away with murder. Hopefully the did a gun residue test on the dad. Have they still not figured out what gun was used?

Nice tale of fiction troll.

I have been a little frustrated that the reaction of some white people I know has been 'oh gosh that boy must have been so troubled to do such a thing' but a black person does ANYTHING wrong -not even family multiple homicide- and and they are a 'thug'

(This was before the racist aspects of the family came out- there has been radio silence from them about that)

I'd been wondering if the dad was actually the killer and blamed the son and now it was about to come out.
