Honestly I’m just relieved they didn’t shoot up a park or school instead.

An Alabama teenager has been arrested for allegedly killing his mother and twin 13-year-old brothers.

The victims -- identified as Holli Christina Durham, age 36; Branson Durham, age 13; and Baron Durham, age 13 -- were found dead of apparent stab wounds inside a house in Munford, Alabama

Colin 'CJ' Haynie, 16, has been charged as an adult over the murder of his mother and three siblings - aged aged 12, 14 and 15 - and the attempted killing of his father.

Prosecutors have revealed the teen skipped school in order to carry out the horror killings on January 17 in the family's home near the small town of Grantsville, west of Salt Lake City.

Wow how absolutely sad. And in both cases it was mother + siblings killed. I feel awful for the poor fathers who lost their wife + children.

I feel sorry they were left behind alive with killers for sons. What are they going to do - forgive them? Visit as they spend a lifetime in a local prison? Remarry and move on?

Guns. How did these kids get their hands on firearms?

Only one boy used a gun - but it was owned by the family.

NP. Do mentally ill teen girls do this?

No, it's just the boys. It's male entitlement, and toxic masculinity. Entitled boys who have been taught that it's ok to take your sh!t out on other people if you don't get your way.

Dr. Phil just had a teenage girl who stole money from her parents to pay someone to murder them.

I think they are also taught seeking help for depression or anxiety is a sign of weakness and something for girls, not boys.

I love when people find a small handful of female cases to refute thousands of male cases instead of examining while males disproportionately commit these crimes. It is so helpful!

There are plenty of girls that are evil and toxic.

Honestly I feel that the skipping school pales into insignificance compared to the horrific murder of your family.

I don't know that parents teach their boys that it's okay to do this-- or that it's necessarily "toxic masculinity." Mental illness is complicated -- and how it's expressed may be gender related (biological). I will bet that these boys were out of control at home, and parents don't always know what to decide when a situation has become a crisis.
I think of toxic masculinity to be someone like Brock Turner or Harvey Weinstein, not boys who have gone off the rails.
