Colleges that do NOT push individual pronouns

Anonymous
I hope the “they” thing passes. I am not going to engage in this overly sensitive pronoun stupidity.

Try the catholic colleges.

Oh, yup! Wouldn't want anything sexually untoward to affect our pwecious babies...send 'em off to Catholic institutions!

My name is Pat. My specific gender believes that 2+2=5. If I fail a math test, it's because my professor is sexist.

Perhaps one purpose behind the intellectual experience in college is to expose the snowflakes to ideas that challenge their orthodoxies and not crucify those who intellectually disagree.

It's not stupid. I don't want my child indoctrinated into thinking that picking your own pronouns is normal. Again, if a person is truly intersex, I understand that this person will have special circumstances.

I agree

Why do you keep using the term, "intersex?"

That group does NOT make up the majority of people who are transgender or non-binary. Get educated please, before you put down a social phenomenon you obviously don't even understand.

I don't mind using a novel pronoun for someone who is truly intersex, but I acknowledge most of the world as binary.

Thank you.

Any college in any country outside the US.

Smarter, better and cheaper

She wouldn’t be. My kid is applying to Oberlin, which is far to the left on gender identity. They ask kids who they are comfortable rooming with and honor that. Not the parents. The kids. They also do a secret ballot vote as dorm halls on the designation of the bathrooms, with one in the dorm being non-binary. The have single sex halls for kids who want them. They also let kids who want to live with a boyfriend/girlfriend do that.

So Oberlin probably out OP. Given that they respect all kids wishes, and not just yours.

Are all of these kids paying for Oberlin? And yes, it was already off the list.

Oberlin has a really generous merit aid policy for kids without need based aid. In reality almost no one pays sticker price.

No one is walking up to people saying “are you a woman?” They are saying which pronouns do you use (which is NOT a biology question oh clueless one). If you self identify as a woman, just remember the grammar you learned in elementary school, and answer “she, her.” No one is asking you to change that. Don’t ask those people to change what they want to be called!

Do I need to call Rachel Donezal black?

I’m sure Shes fine being called Rachel or Ms/Mr/Mx. Donzel

OP. I believe in science. That's why I believe most human beings are either male or female.

MOST being key. Brush up on some new science. I refuse to post the links again but there is legitimate science that shows sex is not as binary as we believed. That's what better tools and technology allow us to discover.

Knowledge is not stagnant. It keeps accumulating. At the turn of the 20th century, people seriously proposed we get rid of the patent office because we thought we had learned everything there was to learn. Clearly wrong.

Do you really think in only a 100 years more we have learned all there is to learn and HOW to learn it?

I went to WAKE FOREST is the 1990s (not a liberal hotbed) and took a sociology class that discussed sexual identity and gender identity was being a spectrum. If Wake was doing this 25 years ago— yeah OP. You’re kind screwed in the keeping your kid away from new ideas depart, ent. Except Liberty or Bob Jones.

Spectrums of sexuality and gender identity = Dr. Kinsey in the freaking 1950s at (gasp) Indiana University.

Colleges will start asking about people's preferred race.

That's when we will know that the US is kaput and China has takrn over the world.

And work in a workplace where not using others preferred pronouns is considered harassment.

This is the future OP. You can disagree. But your kid will either get on board or be left behind. This is what the Universities that train the kids that set the workplace policies are doing. If your kid is there, at least they can have a their opinion heard and influence policy and learn how to navigate. Or they can be at Liberty and get left behind and not become adults who set policy. But the world isn’t going to stop evolving because your kid went to Liberty. And frankly, you do them a disservice if you prepare them for the world you want and not the world we have.

I will never understand why conservatives send their kids to Liberty to avoid the world, rather than to a top college where they will be in a position to influence the conversation— on college campuses and in the workforce later. If enough conservative kids are at Harvard, the conversation in classrooms and student unions will be much more conservative. They will be hired to positions of influence where they are decision makers. Liberals know this. Why don’t you?

So liberal is now a synonym for divorced from reality. Got it.

Liberals are going to the best schools they can and creating the reality your kid will have to live and work in.
