Is FCV St James even participating in DA?

Yes- if you read the FAQ on the St. James website it even lists the cost for regular teams and cost for DA team. ($2895 for DA)

I'll say this. Two DA clubs recently had big announcements. FCV made a formal press release, sent an email to parents, and had a website with FAQ ready to go. Spirit, on the other hand, has still not made any formal press release, and there is no website with any information about the clubs.

Which one seems more organized and better run than the other?

Look under the Spirit thread for the formal letter sent to DA parents this morning. You are way behind the 8 ball in your info.

Re-read my post. I said Spirit has not made a formal press release, and there is nothing on the Spirit website about the split. Yes, they sent a letter to the parents. But that's it. The Spirit website still has the same DA information page that they've always had. If you were new to that site, you'd have no idea that the MD and VA teams are no longer affiliated with Spirit. There is no website for the new MU DA team, and there is nothing on the Baltimore Armour site about their new girls DA program. Why? Is it really that hard to coordinate (a) a letter to parents, (b) a press release and (c) an update to your website? The fact that Spirit, and the new MD and VA DA clubs, could not coordinate these 3 simple tasks is just par for the course when it comes to the operation of those clubs over the last 2 years, and it does not signal any fresh change going forward.

My daughter plays for WS VA. I was contacted by her coach to personally talk to me about next year several days ago. He was completely transparent about the direction the club was taking.

The WS MD parents have also received info from their DA directors.

Did the FCV coaches do that with their player families?

It is liikely that Loudoun will start using Evergreen Sportsplex more often in my opinion

Barca uses the majority of Evergreen fields. They have a 5-year lease.

I think his point was that Loudoun will try to bid FCV out of their space at Evergreen to force them completely over to Springfield. Would be a smart move on their part, if they can swing it.

Yes. But FCV has very little space there as it is. Maybe that's part of the reason for the move.

Did that great marketing team come up with the “The St. James FCV” ? Were they still high from Colorado when they came up with that ridiculousness?

If I was a parent I would ask about roster size so it doesn’t turn into a Spirit or Braddock road.

As opposed to Metro United? When I looked for their site, I was directed to Metro Untied Soccer Club, which is in Kansas. Whoops. It would not surprise me if the VA clowns even searched to see if "Metro United" was available or conflicted with other soccer clubs.

No changes to FCV's or info regarding the news either. I guess they are waiting on the new kick ass St. James web team to update it? Social Media and website management was one of the advantages cited in the letter. Already a fail.

Wonder how many will move over to FCV from BRYC now? The "Friends and family" rulers at BRYC might be in a scramble to keep their blinded by loyalty families from seeing the light.

Whatever you need to tell yourself to make it sound better. TsJfcV really rolls off the tongue. Which 3 letters will fall away first? FCV? Will people start showingup with their reusable bags thinking they were going to Trader Joe’s?
