The St James acquires FCV

Was there on Sunday and the kid play area was busy during the rain, but there was a big football event going on on the soccer field and the basketball and hockey areas were pretty quiet, looked like the ice may have been rented out to individuals for private training though. Pool was pretty dead too although the water park may have had kids in it.

Mmmm, if I am a 2006-2004 player, I think I'd choose McLean or even Loudoun over a DA team that may or may not work out given all the uncertainty surrounding it.

Maybe - but the picture suddenly just got much clearer for Metro United. Only DA program left in the North NOVA area. If they can pickup even a handful of FCV players it changes their fortunes.

Metro united thinking they will get fcv players is a new level of stupid

Misery loves company in youth soccer. Wonder what's next.

FCV will likely have a split to East and West teams which will filter into one DA team. That is what I am betting on.

More stupid than assuming all of your teammates are willing to drive 2 hours per night to practice in rush hour traffic. Nah.

^^^No one signing on to play half time for the DA at DA prices. Dumb idea.

That's a good idea for U12 and younger, but I'm not sure the combination into 1 DA team will work, because who wants to drive from the East location to Loudoun, or vice versa. Maybe it works if FCV becomes like PDA with two DA teams, East and West.

PDA is an ECNL team not DA at least for girls. They have a first and second ECNL team.

Please forgive the out of touch FCV Dad. He still thinks it's 2017.

Where are all the FCV parents? They seem oddly quiet about these developments. Any concerns?

I am sure there quite a bit of concern until everyone understands what this actually means. Between the Metro United and FCV news lots to be unsure about. BRYC and Arlington may not be sleeping as soundly either now. Right in their backyard.

The announcement makes no mention of DA.

Is FCV St James even participating in DA?
