| Ethnic teens are all getting blonde highlights, using hair straighteners, having nose jobs. It IS kind of sad but looking WASP seems like one more thing on the checklist of must have items. |
| It's a personal decision and if someone hates their nose and wants to change it, let them. My DD was miserable in HS with hers. She is very petite and it did overwhelm her face. People teased her about it. She had it done at 18 before college and is so much happier. She was a late bloomer, and it was recommended we wait until she was 18. For the record, it's not a tiny little nose. There's no way it could be. It looks very natural and the most important thing is she feels good about herself. Totally worth it. |
| I had mine at 16. In so thankful my parents let me do it. My confidence in my looks increased dramatically and that affected my sel-confident in a very positive way. Never once have I regretted getting it fixed. |
BTW, there were two other girls in my class that had nose jobs the summer I did when we were all 16. None of us are Jewish. |
| What is the general consensus of what age is the minimum for a nose job? |
| 16 |
This can be a quality of life condition that affects her back, her posture. I get it. |
I know a child who had surgery to pin back his ears and the result was life changing - not for his looks, but for his confidence and self esteem. He and his parents have no regrets. |
| I had one the summer I turned 16. I was tormented and teased. I felt ugly and hated myself. I don't regret it. I'm still no super model but I don't literally hide anymore. I have an average level of confidence and insecurities. I'm sad that my 16 year old self hated herself so much, and I'm angry at the bullies who made me feel that way. But it was the right choice to let me grow into my self without such a glaring difference getting in the way. I likely won't ever have any other work done - I don't need "perfection". |
One of my friends had it done in college, freshman year. She looked much better but it was not obvious and I couldn't tell what was changed until she told me. IMO, the trick is to keep the same shape. I think these are great examples

I had my ears pinned back. Life changing. |
I couldn't care less. I haven't had any breast surgery but had zero interest in breastfeeding |
Who cares?? I would have 5 nose surgeries if that is what was needed. No big deal. |
And??? Who cares if they had it done 2x? |
Exactly |
