I'm sorry my kid's not clean enough for the playground. We wash hands and faces after lunch, but yeah, he's a very messy eater and has been known to have a little avocado on his shirt. Next time I'll do a little Silkwood scrub-down before I let him roll around in the sandbox. I so tire on the recent fixation on "class" around here lately. It's such an imperious little put-down. I can just hear the accompanying sniff. |
I am not that lady, but I do believe in thank you notes, like a good portion of society ![]() |
Beside the point, but okay. |
Wasn't the point if you see that your kid is dirty before you leave out the door - change the shirt??????? |
Same hear. That is what the Dr. Sears baby books says, BTW. Of course, more if bug spray applied or baby was in the dirt, etc. |
What a hoot. We don't use a doctor except in rare circumstances. And anyway, he is the last person I would trust to know what chemicals are in sunscreens these days or about kids true nutritional needs. New research is now showing that it is precisely the midday sun that we need MOST to produce a range of vitamin D in our bodies, although I do agree with popular wisdom that it is not healthy for children (or adults) to develop a sunburn - which is why sun exposure is limited. |
exactly baby 0 - 12 months not walking or running around toddler or child. |
PP (bolded), I heart you! Can we be friends? I think you are also the poster who gave me advice on how to find a ped ok with spacing out vax (or cope with one who doesn't approve) and I may recognize you from a few other threads as well. I wish we were friends! You make sense. |
You are clearly a fun mom. |
You are one of those crazy christians that doesn't believe in medical care? |
NP here. The general rule Chez Our House is 3x per week: Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. However, when we're making daily or almost daily visits to the pool the baths tends to get stretched out to 2x per week, and whenever it's convenient (not set days).
|
Are you saying you don't bathe them as much because they're going to the pool? |
The body isn't supposed to be washed every day. There are good and bad bacteria on your skin, as well as protective oils, wash these away and your body over compensates. Every other day is all anyone needs to bathe, especially if you are using antibacterial soaps, which help to create super bugs. |
As you wish my friend. We are still talking about children right? |
Seriously!! And do people use antibacterial soaps to bathe their children? Seriously???!!!! |
