Be honest - how often do you bathe your kids?

This is nasty. Many a baby can be wiped down every other day but EVERYBODY else needs their butt washed in water! A ten year old? - you are trifling and teaching kids to be nasty.

Mine take a shower with me or DH on average about 4-5x /week. Shampoo is MUCH less frequent and varies by kid. The 3 year old also likes to take showers solo sometimes. I put all 3 in the tub together once or twice a week, or only the 1-year old, just for fun, but the real washing is much easier to do in the shower.

My 5 year old takes a bath every night; my 1 year old, maybe every few days. When he's older and they can take a bath together he'll probably get washed more often...

We go to an indoor pool.

Still, I can't believe they are not out in the sun all day. You should put suncsreen on them.

Please teach your children to bathe everyday. Habits are learned, I work in a bridal shop and the amount of smelly women I see in a day amazes me. Dirty bra straps, dirty flip flop feet, stinky underarms. Don't you feel and sleep better when you're clean? Why wouldn't a child?

Why on earth would you assume an anonymous poster who does not bathe their child daily has purchased him a $1,000 stroller?

This thread gets funnier and funnier!

You are a hoot!

They aren't out all day in the sun. What can I say? They have very fair skin, and I just don't trust sunscreen to protect them. Also, it needs to be reapplied every hour, and that gets very expensive.

I make sure they get a little bit of sun each day at midday (we don't let the skin turn pink -- that's too much) because I want them to have good Vit D exposure. But other than that, we stay in the shade, esp. between 10 and 2. They wear wide brimmed hats, some special sun-cover up clothing (purchased second hand, because we are not wealthy... sorry if second hand clothing seems gross to you, too -- but we are not wealthy people and clothing is expensive)

If they get really sweaty and dirty, they take a bath. Some days they run under the sprinkler. If their feet are dirty, we just wash the feet some days. If we are swimming in a pool, they take a shower, with soap, before entering the (indoor) pool. Other than that, in the summer, they usually take a bath about twice a week.

While we're at it, I hate seeing kids' lunch menus on their faces and T-shirts when I come across them in the neighborhood! Or especially muddy bits stuck on them.
A one-time occurrence is understandable enough.
But consistently dirty every time I see them? Sigh. Some parents sadly lack self-respect and class.

Oh noooooo. You're Angry Thank You Note Lady, aren't you.

So how many school age kids come to school without an am or pm bath or shower? No wonder the class gets wiped out by the stomach bug? Lord help us this winter.

1. Sunscreen is non-negotiable ESPECIALLY if they have fair skin - ask your doctor.
2. The midday sun is most damaging to the skin. Vitamin D can be made with early morning or late afternoon exposure.
3. I trust you meant a shower AFTER the pool, to rinse off the chlorine which irritates skin and hair.

Please, for your children's sake, inform yourself better. Skin cancer 40 years from now is not a joke.
