Did you not see the word "horrible?" Wow, you guys are really insane.

Bingo. His true colors are now exposed for all to see.

I expect Jack Smith to follow all procedures with due diligence and make sure that this is handled by our judicial system and not MCPS.

Glad to see that he is doing just that. Happy to get this letter from him and thankful that he is not in the habit of sending deranged tweets in the middle of the night!

That is such a refreshing change.

How about letting these non English speaking men go to evening classes?

No 14 year old girls to drag into the men's stall to gang rape?

The Title of the WTOP Story this morning is:

Lawyer: Student accused in rape ‘wants to play by the rules’

Is he 'frigging' serious with this statement?
First the 18 year old Missed his Deportation Hearing and then Gang Raped a 14 year old.

This just keeps getting 'better'. I hope that this 14 year old has great consul and is not intimidated by this POS.

Was wondering the same. Is Jezic taking the case on for free for publicity??

What kind of money does it take to defend this rapist?

Great idea. We need more public funds for such schools. I think the vouchers to parents whose children are already going to private schools was a BAD, TERRIBLE, HORRIBLE idea. Lets protest that.

And where does the Superintendent spend his morning today? At the least diverse school in the county Carderock Springs, sucking up to the Governor and the Sec of Education. Way to be out there supporting your staff at Rockville HS.

A PR nightmare for this guy, who advised his to go there?

That he intended to break federal law and ban undocumented children, or the children of undocumented parents?

That's obviously what folks want, but he can't say that because he can't do that.

We want these adult criminals to be offered evening classes.
What part of that don't you understand?

What adult criminals? Nobody is a criminal yet. Innocent u til proven guilty and these guys were both minors when they entered the school system, and neither had any sort of criminal record or even contact with the police prior to this. You can't just randomly assign people to adult classes. If it's even Constitutional.

Not the PP but I want older teens who are uneducated and can't speak English (basically those who meet the METS criteria) to not be in the same high schools as our children. THey should be offered night classes or go elsewhere. There are 500+ of them in 12 High schools in the county. This needs to change. Especially if they can't properly be vetted. I think this is reasonable.

Do you really believe this man raped because he didn't speak English?

Seriously? Why does it have to always come back to this? Don't you get it? We don't want our children to be put at risk by being in the same schools as ADULTS who arw not here legally and cannot be vetted. Why are we being demonized for wanting safe schools???

Do you or do you not believe that this man raped because he is an illegal immigrant?

Did i say that that he raped because he's an illegal immigrant? What are you trying to prove?

You obviously think his crime has to do with him immigration status. I disagree, and it seems Jack Smith does as well.

Don't be so obtuse. Look at the facts. We had 2 older teens show up at the border, released into our country, free to enroll and enter into a public school no questions asked. Because of the stupid laws we have in place today, MCPS didn't have a choice but to say yes come in, sometimes even saying yes when there is no proof of age. Do you not see an issue with that? Or do you think we should just open the door and let anyone come in even if we don't know their history? It's not like we're talking about 7 or 8 year olds here. Please note that the majority of those in the METS program are high school age. These are not kids (legal or illegal) who have been in this country for awhile.

The guy has a big, fat ego.

WHY would he be out supporting staff at RHS? At his press conference he BLAMED THEM for the rape.

"All MCPS employees are responsible for this tragedy"

"No choice" but to enroll them? Bullshit. That's the superintendent's twisted interpretation of the SC decision, which is motivated by the want for more $$$$$$ for MCPS. Every pupil he adds is another $17,000 each, per year for his budget and pet projects.

Sure because it typically works out well for school districts to reject well-settled Supreme Court law. Just ask the Mayor of Little Rock how that one went.

Haven't you heard? Montgomery County is officially "uncooperative" with ICE. But I suspect that will soon change. People will demand better for their children in public schools.
