Is this the end for Sup. Jack Smith?

A PR nightmare for this guy, who advised his to go there?

What's wrong with Caderock Springs, lovely school with a motivated base. I would imagine New Hampshire estates is the least diverse school in the county.

Wonder why it is the least diverse? Is it a school that has predominantly Asians? They are very motivated in academics.

WHY would he be out supporting staff at RHS? At his press conference he BLAMED THEM for the rape.

"All MCPS employees are responsible for this tragedy"

I seriously doubt most MCPS employees even WANT these thugs in the daytime school system. What a fool Jack Smith is. He couldn't be more out of touch with reality.

I wonder who has the time to post all day, every day about this. I haven't gone through the entire monumental thread (have a job...) but I guess it was inevitable that someone would start with the slurs against another minority.

He's a great change for the district and should be promoted, not denigrated.

Another who works with him a bit, was skeptical at first, and now agrees he is refreshing, thoughtful and brilliant. Those slamming him would slam whoever is in his position, and he's often says he doesn't enjoy the political aspect of the job and who could blame him.

This kid is a thug, and the responsibility for the crime lies with him alone.

nothing is wrong with it but with a crisis going on like there is, you would think the Sup would be there not at the least diverse school in the county. If you are trying to say New Hampshire Estates is less diverse because of the overwhelming Hispanic population vs the 5% farms at CES you have you are the exact parent they are looking for to have your kids attend CES.

Jack Smith is probably now trying to suck up to the outstanding Asian community who is very vocal about cracking down on the illegal invasion of our schools.

The Asian community has worked long and hard for a good education here, and isn't willing to throw it down the gutter to the incompetent PC politicians and school board.

Superintendent Smith has my support, as an MCPS parent. His approach, from where I sit, has been measured in exactly the right way. He has stressed the gravity of the events at RHS, but resisted the temptation to throw anyone under the bus, particularly a disenfranchised minority group.

I appreciate him not taking the easy path. It's hard to stand in front of a group of angry, frightened, folks and say "We are doing our best, and working within the law," but that's exactly what I want him to do.

I agree. His attempt to cover this up, alone, is enough to get rid of him. He can't be trusted.

events, you know exactly what is was and so does he. it was rape, rape vaginally, anally, then forced to perform oral sex on them both.

Really? an event? an event is back to school night.

Thanks, Jack, but you're toast. Cheers!

I really wonder how many of the anti-JS posts (Jeff?) are from one or two people. It's nothing at all like how the MCPS community feels, both about the incident or about him personally.
