Commute and language are drivers for us. We are not concerned about an eventual feeder.

If you're willing to go up to CMI and you value language, I'm surprised you don't have Stokes Spanish on your list. That and Bethune, which is outside of common lottery, are both in Brookland not much farther away than ITS.

We went back and forth on this quite a bit but decided to put a hard stop on 10 minutes of car commute. We noticed once we started creeping it was like "we'll, if we're willing to do 10 why not 15 and if 15 why not 20..."

Or EL Haynes?

How is CMI 10 minutes from Garrison boundary? Have you looked at TR4, Lee or Bruce Monroe? (You say language, but ITS and CMI aren't language schools).

We're on the Northeast edge of the boundary. CMI is about a 9-10 minute drive. TR and Lee are over 15 minutes in morning traffic. The Spanish schools we liked within our radius were prioritized over CMI and ITS. Monroe fell out for a reason that I don't want to dig into here.

The Garrison boundary goes further than you would think (or than I would think). You can theoretically be a shorter walk to Tubman or Cleveland but be districted for Garrison in some spots.

Aren't Lee and Inspired Teaching like a block from each other?

You're right, that was a brain glitch...Lee is Montessori.

Good luck-- looks like a realistic and balanced list. I've heard really good things about Garrison ECE

Besides, they are close but not "a block" close. It's four tenths of a mile.

I think CHML and L-T are wasted on this list. And you don't have a safety. Is your plan to add Langdon post-lottery?

Yes, Langdon is that bad for now. It may change since the community is changing so much but it has a ways to go. My safety is to stay in the daycare we are at until my kid is 5.

Why is CHML a waste? I could L-T being a waste since we are OOB. But what's wrong with CHML?

Two Rivers is quite a bit further away, but Lee is literally 30 seconds from ITS, just FYI.
