Ummm - okay. Don't have a reality show? Don't have an affair with a 23 year old who you only got because you are a reality star and who otherwise would think you are that creepy dad at the bar with shitty facial hair? Look, I get that they are in a tough situation and I don't wish a crumbling marriage on anyone. I do feel sorry for them, in a way, though they did bring a lot on themselves. I just get pissed because I read a headline today, Jon and Kate - Family in Crisis! No. My friend whose baby was born three months early with a hole in her heart, and the family had to be med-evacuated hours from their home, and spend months on in air mattress away from family, work, etc. wondering if their child would make it? That is a family in crisis. I feel sorry for Jon and Kate because they are frankly, dumb. Not uneducated, not "trashy" or whatever other posters have said, just immature to not think this through and to not recognize the warning signs and say, hey, let's stop at the end of this season. We have made some money, I can write a book, do some speaking engagements, but let's not get greedy and ruin our family. But they didn't. |
I've learned to appreciate birth control. |

I read a story in one of the rags about this. I have to tell you, I can totally get where that woman is coming from, as far as: She's a drill sargent. Well no surprise, if you have eight kids you have to be. She's anal about things like handwashing. Well knowing how crazy it is if just my one or two are sick, I can imagine she's learned the hard way to be careful. She was at an interview when she got a call that one of her kids hurt his finger. And she (gasp) didn't go to the ER - she sent her husband. Oh what a crime.
I feel for the lady. I had a basically useless husband and have a hard enough time with two. I can only imagine how enormous the issues are that they deal with. |

OK, after all the hype HERE, I watched part of it tonight and saw the clip show at the end. Sadly, they look happy at the beginning (yes, yes, I realize it was reality TV and not reality). But have they been doing this show ever since the kids were born? If so, no wonder they are having problems. How exhausting would it be to try to raise all those kids under the public eye. Plus, you get them down for their naps, and the darn camera guy wakes them up to change lenses.

Wah wah for kate. She has an army of assistants and nannies. You would think she would do something with that hair, it is awful. At least michelle Duggar tried a new hairstyle for this season. Kate's just gets more hideous.

"shouldn't they be budgeting some of this for the future when the show goes away? surely it will.
Dude, they make (I heard on the radio today) in the neighborhood of $75K PER EPISODE. This in addition to free college tuitions promised and all the other freebies and product / service placements. They're doing fine. |
Yeah but wouldn't you want to set up trust funds for your 8 kids???? I predict after a huge ratings surge, ratings will dwindle. Show will probably be done in another season. I don't know, you're probably right, I'm just conservative about $$$ especially since it's not reality TV star is job security!!! Nick Lachey anyone? At least Jessica has her shiteous hair extensions and clothing line to bring in the dough, but he doesn't have a lot! |

Who has promised to pay for their college? I find that hard to believe.
kate's hair looks like one of the girls from "salt -n- peppa". |
| maybe the whole thing is a wild publicity stunt to improve rating for the show. |

See this blog re: the wealth these folks have: http://figgiesworld.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/jon-and-kate-plus-8-frauds/
They are not hurting for money. |
Really wish I had not read that. The rage I feel for this couple is unhealthy. I'm sure taxpayers of PA are psyched they are paying for college for the children in multi-millionaires. Wait, who I am kidding? Those kids won't go to college. Sadly they will either end up on drugs or moving out to LA to try to make it as serious actors and musicians. What a train wreck of a family. |
I'm not saying they are saints. I have no clue because I don't live with them, and being married to a TV producer myself, I understand how much of that show is/can be manipulated by the network. However, not all of the rumors about them are necessarily true. They certainly aren't building an 8,000 square foot house in NC. They bought a bigger house in PA instead. So if that one's not true, who are we to say some or all of the other rumors aren't true either? |
| kate's hair is REALLY REALLY BAD |
I was thinking the same thing! Masterminds! I also watch the show regularly and I feel like in this last episode they were acting a bit more. |
| I just think Jon and Kate need to turn off the cameras and find ways to move forward so the kids are not negatively impacted by the media and tension. It was cute for a couple of years but it's time for them to refocus on strengthening the family and their marriage. Seeing tension between Jon and Kate does not motivate me to watch the show anymore. The show's focus doesn't seem to surround the kids any more but the drama between Jon and Kate. |
