Campuses? The First Family sends their daughters there? What kind of kids go to
this school? Are they not reaching respect for women?

Guess the secret service should have let them go to GDS.

we need to separate out the issues of teenage sex and rape. They are two different things and one is normal one is not.

If the alleged rape occurred at around 2:30 pm, why was it not reported until 11 pm? Strange.

+1. Rape and other sexual assaults are crimes. In our society, we report crimes and the police/prosecutors take it from there. The kangaroo courts in colleges for campus "sexual misconduct" are a disgrace. Either it's consensual or it's not.

Sure, discuss the reality of consequences. Physical, emotional, etc.

"One of you will likely be devastated when it's over."
"Do you really want to risk it could be you?"

Have you been raped? I didn't realize rape victims run straight to tell. Give me a break!

Define normal? "Everyone's doing it"?
Or part of healthy adolescent development?
I think not.

It allegedly occurred on a campus in broad daylight during school hours, with hundreds of teachers, administrators and students at school and (as others have pointed out) with law enforcement officers also stationed at the school. And the report is made to police at night nearly 12 hours later? Not saying it didn't happen, but it's weird that the first report was nearly 12 hours later and then to police.

They'll eventually be asking if that's the college for DD goes to. Count on it.

If this was a genuine rape (yes, I said if because after all these recent he said/she said rapes that turned out not to be real rapes in the media in the last few years I'm reserving judgement until more facts are known, if possible), so, if this was a genuine rape it's a traumatic event and I absolutely believe the victim being stunned and traumatized into silence for hours before telling anyone. Especially if it's a school day with after school activities and the commute home and the final confession to the parents. The parents are stunned and need to take a hour or so to restrain themselves and then they call the police. By now it's 11:00 PM. Totally believable.

I don't care if their pictures are on the front page of the Post tomorrow. Their identities will not be disclosed here. Second, any posts that I find to be racist, sexist, classist, or any other thing that ends in "ist" will be removed. Fair warning, my sensitivity meter is turned up to "high". As long as you folks want to blabber about how good you are at recognizing Secret Service officers, you are good to go. But, get too far outside the parameters I've set and this thread will be deleted.

I think those are great parameters. However, I have to ask why is your sensitivity meter regarding any of the "ist" high on this thread, but not on the other threads? I've read a lot of things on this board that cross that line or walk close to it and there was no "ground rules" posted on those threads. Just trying to understand why this one and not others, as I think the ground rules you set are great and should apply to a lot of other threads.

I can't read every thread. You are welcome to report messages that you think are inappropriate.

Ah ok. Understood.

And I have to say Jeff has been pretty good at responding when posts do get out of line.

How does police determine if the report of this crime is credible if there are no injuries on the victim? (Maybe there are injuries, I don't know.) Always wondered this.
