You visit the Great Lakes.

Just FYI coastal snobs . . . Michigan alone has more coastline than California.

ok great- and miserable weather for how many months of the year?

We aren't talking about living there... As long as you go anytime from late spring to early fall, you will be fine. Michigan is beautiful and has lovely weather in the summer.

"Africa"? Really? The entire continent is off limits to you?

Yes. No desire to go there what so ever, not even Egypt...

While Egypt is well worth visiting, even most Egyptians don't feel they are in Africa.

I'm talking about walking the red dunes of Namibia, driving the wild coast of South Africa, watching the migrations across the Serengheti, rafting through the Okavango Delta, happening upon a family of cheetah in a safari park, eating prawns in Mozambique... Africa is freaking amazing.

Seriously. Broaden your horizon.

This thread makes me dislike people even more than I already do.

Me too. To me a cruise equals warm weather.

Wow.

You can visit Alaska without a cruise.

So don't go back ...

...Looking at your watch a third time
Waiting in the station for the bus
Going to a place that's far
So far away and if that's not enough
Going where nobody says hello
They don't talk to anybody they don't know

You'll wind up in some factory
That's full-time filth and nowhere left to go
Walk home to an empty house
Sit around all by yourself
I know it might sound strange but I believe
You'll be coming back before too long...

Came in to see if this was an India, Israel & flyover state bash fest. Was not disappointed.

Eh. I myself would like to go to Parts of Africa, but I understand why some people don't. Most people have limited time and money for travel and have ideas about where they do and don't want to spend their time and money.

Personally, I have no real desire to go to Hawaii. I know it's wonderful and unique etc etc, but honestly, if I'm going to fly that far and spend that kind of time and money, I would likely always choose to go to Europe instead.

Same here about Hawaii. Definitely no interest in going to Africa. Sort of interested in visiting China. Don't know when I will ever be able to make such a long trip - and probably would choose Europe of i had the opportunity to travel for a couple of weeks.
