I guess not. I wish they were clearer on the website or did what DC does with their lottery. |
I would guess it is one offer per student not per family. That would make sense. But then again it is PGCPS

Our high schooler was accepted into 2 high school specialty programs via testing, not lottery, for next year. So this policy of only getting a spot in one specialty program doesn't apply to the high school level.
We have another child with very good wait list numbers at 2 specialty programs, one being a TAG program, and it will be a big problem if we don't hear from the TAG program first. |
| I tried to call the office this morning to see if letters for Tag schools had been mailed but no one picked up ugh. I guess that means we wait til next week. |
It is Spring Break...try Tuesday. |
| I don't know anyone who has heard about TAG yet. Maybe next week? Or do we have to wait until after spring break? |
| Has anyone heard about any montessori results? |
Just got our TAG placement letter in the mail today. Whoo-hoo! |
|
Lucky you! Congrats!
We're still waiting... |
Congrats! Elementary or middle school? What was your lottery number? What is the date to answer? Just wondering since my family is on vacation for Spring Break and won't be back for a week. My child's number is pretty low for middle school so just trying to guess her chances. DC was accepted into two top private schools but would really want a public school option. |
| Any more good news? |
| I am confused i recieved a letter that states your child was not eligible for the TAG program. Which was sent out i am assuming the date the acceptance letters were sent. However, my daughter recieved a letter congratulating her on being TAG identified way back in February after testing. In The lottery she was in the 80's. I hope this does not mean they took her number from her. I did send an email to the office, has this ever happened to anyone. I hope it is just a small mistake that they will quickly fix. My first encounter with pg county schools. But i am sure they will take care of it. |
| Sounds like a miscommunication that only the TAG office can solve. Let us know how it goes. I wonder if others got the same conflicting letters, or if I will! |
Did the letter you received in Feb. say that her test scores indicated she was eligible for further screening or that that she was eligible for the program. Full TAG identification also depends on grades and a teacher rubric. |
| I just Reread the letter it says "based on test and data packet your child is qualified for TAG program." I must say the people in the office got back to me today very quickly and they will cross check with TAG office. Hope to hear good news. |
