Yeah, even looking at the "Raw" data it is still confusing. We have a high number (30s) for 2nd grade TAG, but I don't know if that means we're in or in the 30s for the waitlist?

Last year a friend's child was 37 on waitlist for 2nd grade and got into it TAG center. Not sure about this year but their is a good chance

From what I read, raw means the list of all numbers, so most likely you have no problem getting in.

You are on the waitlist. If a seat is available it will be offered to the 30 or so people before you. If no one accepts it, then it will be offered to you.

I get how a waitlist works--I'm just not clear on if the # that shows up when I log in is our number on the waitlist or our number overall. The raw data suggests that it is an overall number--ie: students with numbers 1-75 are offered a spot, and #76 is #1 on the waitlist.

I guess you can say it's your overall number. I think schools are right now finalizing info from current students to determine available seats. Using your example, if there are 75 empty seats, then yes, the first 75 will get a letter in the mail next week that says "Congratulations, your child has been awarded a seat. Let us know if you accept."

My child has a high waitlist number. Yesterday I spoke with someone in the school office who said she is just now emailing administration to let them know how many seats are available. So as of yesterday we don't know the exact number of available seats but she told me that I should feel very hopeful about our number. My child has a lower number at another school and I don't expect to get in.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

PP here. Just want to clarify, by high waitlist number I mean near the top of the list and by low I mean closer to the bottom. So for me, high = good and low = bad.

Thank you! That is very helpful and how I read the "raw" numbers too. (not PP, but I had the same question!)

Someone can correct me if i am wrong but for the other parent worried about private school. If your number is like 85 you should get in. So glenarden woods may have 88 spaces or so for 2nd grade. Based on what i understand raw score. Numbers 1 to 88 will have a spot. They will wait to see who accepts. Therefore number 89 then becomes number 1 on the waitlist for a spot. Please any parents on the forum let me know if i am explaining this correctly.
