Specialty Lottery 2015

Anonymous
I noticed that the deadline has been extended to March 16, 2015 for those who have not entered. Hopefully for those of us who have entered it does not push back the March 20th drawing which is this week. I wish all that are on the forum that you get your placement. I am awaiting TAG for second grade and performing arts for second grade which will probably not be good results. Anyone who notices the link to check the status please post so that my wait shall be over.

I'm also eager for the lottery. I will post if I see any updates.

Does anyone know for specialty if you are accepted if you have to respond within a few weeks or your spot will be given up? I guess is it similar to charter school lottery.

Yes, you do have a short timeframe in which to respond. It might be less than 2 weeks, but I cannot remember for sure. You have the option to fax or email your reply. We did both when we earned a spot a couple of years ago.

This is a question that i was wondering. Thanks you for answering this question. This will help with the moving of the children that may be on a waitlist as well. I am hoping for second grade TAG as well. I hope the lottery drawing is Friday and the results come out to us soon.

Well... what did you get?

Good wait list number @ Robert Goddard Montessori. Very hopeful.

Slightly higher wait list number at Greenbelt Middle TAG. I don't know if there's even a single available spot there so I'm writing that off.

PP here. Anyone else willing to share? I'd love to hear that someone got good news.

This is my sixth year applying for multiple programs and multiple kids and I've never made it below 150

I wish I had good news to share. In the 170s for kindergarten at Foulois. This was my first year entering the charter & specialty lotteries, and I was unsuccessful with both. I'll try again next year, though I realize my daughter's chances are even more slim for 1st grade.

We are waitlisted # 84 for glenarden woods 2nd grade talented and gifted. This is a high number so i am assuming we did not get in ugh.

For those grades like kindergarten and 2nd grade TAG spots, do they first accept the kids that fill up the classes and then create a waitlist or does everyone get on the wait list and they take kids on Waitlist in order. I hope this question Is not confusing.
