| I would be embarrassed to say that my child was in a fraternity. |
Sadly, you can teach teenagers until you are blue in the face to do the right thing but if they are drunk then all clear thinking goes out the window. Alcohol is a drug that effects the mind and people do stupid horrible things when they are drunk. The safest student on a college campus is a sober one. |
| Time for those boys to lawyer up. |
And the devil's drink- booze! |
| If you can believe that 7 men are capable of laying a horrific trap for a girl, why can't you also believe that a woman could possibly lie about rape? DCUM's seem way too willing to buy into the mentality that men are dicks and women are saints. |
I thought the victim in the RS article was sober. |
Until you are the one under them, collectively pounding away at you. Horrifying, but not hard to believe. |
Nailed it. |
Go away umd dude. |
Or you could have read the part where I said false accusations do occur. And you could read what people who have studied rape say: that underreporting is a vastly larger problem than false reports. But you DCUMs - and you're on here, so you count - seem convinced that women cry rape (frequently! all the time!) because it's so gosh darn exciting to have your entire life put under a microscope. |
+ 10000. Also you have 7 sets of parents who will do ANYTHING to keep their dear sons out of jail or any mess. George Hugeley -- they all have parents just like his. |
And THIS is why some people never come forward. Also, it really doesn't matter that you can't believe it. You should thank your lucky stars that you can't. |
OP here: I absolutely believe it if it was part of a fraternity pledging activity as the article implies. We can at least hope that the boys participated with some trepidation, but they were likely told their brotherhood and thus social standing depended on it. That's why the fraternity scene needs serious overhaul and regulation if it is to exist at all. |
Whoops, sorry! I am not OP of this thread but the other one on this article. Momentary confusion
|
| Did you check out the look on the older guys face? He raped a girl and wrote a letter 20 years later saying Im sorry -- she turned it over to the police (it's in the article) He looked like he STILL did not get the severity of his actions. |
