Do you wear make-up every day?

Wouldn't dream of leaving the house without first applying concealer, mascara, and lipstick. I can do this and brush/arrange hair in less time than it takes me to brush my teeth.

Where's your mother? Everyone looks better with a little makeup! Make an effort... Go to Sephora and try some on...for free. Target has some excellent products and Cover Girl still sells the best concealer...

Make sure you flea them and never try on lip gloss.

Also, Cover Girl concealers suck if you have really dark circles.

Most of the women I know who say they rarely or never wear make-up are lying.

Do you put anything over or under the concealer? How do you blend it in? Thanks. Serious question.

I use Shiseido Ibuki Refining Moisturizer underneath and that's it. The concealer is Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - absolutely love this product. It's in a lip gloss type tube and not too creamy and not too watery. I just put a swipe underneath each eye and a dot on my forehead, nose, beside my nostrils (for capillaries), and chin. Just rub it all in. Blends like a dream and has a very natural finish. This is great if you're like me and hate the fakeness and trouble of foundation but want to even out your tone.

Yes everyday. I love makeup and wear pretty neutral tones and neutral eyeshadows ( darker at night when I go out). I wouldn't walk the dog without a tiny bit of mascara and blush

No mascara? Seriously? That is so weird. Start wearing mascara - if I saw someone wearing a full face of makeup, including eyeliner (and lip liner? Really? It's not the 80's) but no mascara, I'd assume she forgot to apply it. It looks so unfinished.

I'm not usually one of the judgmental people on here, but that just strikes me as so strange.

I don't wear mascara because it flakes off (I wear contacts and blink a lot) and sticks to my undereye concealer.

NP here. You had crappy mascara then. Not judging, just saying. There's several different types of mascara, and some are compatible with wearing contacts. Tubing mascara, for example, or you might try some formulated for sensitive eyes, like Neutrogena. I have very long lashes and it just looks weirdly unfinished if I have on a full face and leave it off.

I am allergic to all mascaras. They make my eyes puff up so that they are almost swollen shut. I have only tried expensive mascaras, due to my sensitive skin, but they ALL cause this reaction.

I have read the studies that conclude women are perceived as more professional, more competent and more approachable if wearing makeup so try to wear it to work every day. I read the same thing about wearing jewelry.

What foundation, if any, do you use? I'm always trying to find a barely noticeable foundation. The ones I've tried seem so heavy.

Try a makeup brush. If you have the right shade and a brush, you need very little foundation to get good coverage and even out your skin tone. It doesn't look or feel heavy at all applied this way.

On weekends I am a huge fan of Physician's Formula Organic Wear tinted moisturizer. Feels great, light coverage, makes my skin glow.

This is a great tip! I've never tried a makeup brush for foundation.

I find the flat "foundation brushes" to be pretty streaky and hard to use. Try the Sigma f-80 or f-82 brush.

Thanks to this thread, I just ordered Skin 79 Gold BB cream. I don't usually wear any makeup and am excited to try this! (44-year-old with dry skin.)

I go through makeup phases ranging from sunscreen and eyebrow pencil only to everything but foundation. My job does not require a polished look.

I avoided most makeup because of sensitivities to the ingredients. Mascara makes my eyes swell up. It looks like I got into a fist fight. I'm late 30s and finally figured out which ingredient I'm allergic to. It's petroleum and it's in almost every non-powder makeup product.

Knowing what I need to avoid has made makeup more attainable and less stressful. I went shopping and wear these things most days: sunscreen, eyeliner, eye shadow, mascara, concealer, powder and eyebrow pencil. I should use lip tint or color, but I rarely remember to use it.

NP here. I've found mine gets streaky if I don't wash it every few uses.
