No, I'm not a bag of drama. And I am over myself. Believe me. I've been busty for 30+ years. I know every angle and crevice this conversation is likely to take. His professional events are for him to determine what to wear to. I'm referring to things like a fancy restaurant on Valentines Day for instance, where he chose to wear sweat pants. He looked like and felt like a fool, despite my tell him it was a fancy restaurant. Let me guess, if I had said "I do this all the time. I don't want him going out of the house looking like a fool" you'd have called me harpie. So zip it.

According to the circumstances you describe, it being an occasion where spouses will attend (otherwise I'd say stay home) I definitely think you should dress like ans "old maid", as you put it. Just suffer through the one night dressing as it calls for and pick up your life the next day. If it's that unpleasant to you make up for it by going naked at home the next day (unless you have sons).
