Apparently we need a Mommy Wars forum where you can move the weekly restarts of the usual battles:
- SAH vs WOH
- Nanny/Daycare vs raising your own children
- Public vs Private
- Breast vs Formula
- Organic vs not
- You don't live in DC!
- MD vs NoVa
- Any of the current fad of babywearing, cosleeping, cloth diapering, making your own baby food, etc.
- Nothing from China!

There are probably a ton more...but seems some poster revives at least a couple of these every week.

Or just Gossip. This could also include all of the various big and small screen Hollywood gossip about who is dating whom or who broke up with whom or who slept with whom. Add in all the raving for your favorite TV show, all of the RHOwherever threads and anything else that would normally occupy the tabloids in the checkout aisle.

Not that I don't appreciate the idea but whatnwill happen isnthe sub-formsmor smaller forms will get less traffic bc now it will take more time and effort - even if that effort is 5 seconds- less traffic/less discussion plus more effort will lead posters to just out there post in off topic or some other generic form.

Have been on several message boards over the years and if a simple format works gets lots of traffic as is - dont change it. The change is a kiss of death and the traffic dies down.

I would rather the search feature be enhanced or the option to add keywords to posts or subject lines.

I agree. Some days DCUM already seem too quiet.

I never go to any forum unless looking for a dead/old thread anyway. I just go straight to Recent topics.

Sounds like a gossip forum

A webcam on Wisconsin Ave by the Cathederal that shows speeding cars.

Is there really need for a hater forum? Enough already.

Food aka nutrition; restaurants; cooking--all separate PLEASE. I'm interested in all, but seldom go to that listing, b/c there's too much going on.

Yes, general parenting by age/grades.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. You don't care about food and cooking being jumbled up. I would never have interest in a pet forum! Seriously.

Create new TTC forum, rename current forum to Infertility
Jobs and Careers
Personal Finances
Separate Restaurants and Cooking
Homeschooling

Here is your chance to convince me to change my mind.

I would like to see Cooking combined with Entertaining (Ettiquette, party planning, menu planning, hosting, etc.)

I don't think there is enough in just recipes and cooking alone to create a lot of traffic, but if it were combined with all the entertaining questions it would be a bustling forum.

That's not a bad idea.

I initially suggested separating cooking and restaurants. Combing cooking with entertaining would be great. combining food with nutrition might be good also. What do you think--Jeff?

I like the bold, but would get rid of Homeschooling and add Books/Reading; or don't seperate the cooking and add Books.
Thanks!

Please separate cooking from restaurants. They are two opposite activities! Don't want to look in the same place for both!
