What new forums do you want?

None.

Not that I don't appreciate the idea but whatnwill happen isnthe sub-formsmor smaller forms will get less traffic bc now it will take more time and effort - even if that effort is 5 seconds- less traffic/less discussion plus more effort will lead posters to just out there post in off topic or some other generic form.

Have been on several message boards over the years and if a simple format works gets lots of traffic as is - dont change it. The change is a kiss of death and the traffic dies down.

I would rather the search feature be enhanced or the option to add keywords to posts or subject lines.

This. I've found myself shifting to consuming more from recent topics anyway.

I understand what you are saying. I'm mostly interested in creating forums that are their own little communities such as the Real Estate or Political forums. Along those lines, splitting Infertility from TCC (actually, I would probably just rename the current forum Infertility and create a new TTC forum) is interesting because both could probably support their own group of users. I am a bit less interested in endlessly subdividing parenting issues so that posters would be expected to switch forums every few months. Jobs and Careers seems like a no-brainer given my priorities since that one is clearly a standalone.

Update. I would like to keep the number of new forums to four, but I don't think I will be able. If I go to five, here is the current list I'm thinking about:

Create new TTC forum, rename current forum to Infertility
Jobs and Careers
Personal Finances
Separate Restaurants and Cooking
Homeschooling

Here is your chance to convince me to change my mind.

I like this list but I don't think the food/cooking/recipes forum really gets enough traffic to warrant splitting it between cooking and restaurants. If people want straight up restaurant reviews, there are a lot of other places to go for that.

How about Jobs, Careers and Personal Finances

I'd be interested in at least adding "and Au Pairs" to the current nanny forum if not having a separate forum. I think you'd get more au pair conversation if it was clear that that would be hosted under the nanny forum.

The new nanny forums section includes a forum for au pairs.

still not sure why homeschooling needs its own forum. i just never see posts regularly enough about homeschooling on any of the forums...

The industry tends to use ARTS for Assisted Reproductive Technology Services. This includes a wide range from standard Infertility, IVF, ICSI, Donor Egg, Surrogacy, etc.

I will probably call it "Infertility Support and Discussion".
