I practically have an entire drawer of these. Love them. No panty lines!

I too loved VS cotton bikinis--the old version. They were a perfect fit!!! I was so upset when they got rid of the old style. After years of looking and trying different brands, I finally found a solution. Jockey Elance Supersoft bikini. They are 93/7 micromodal and spandex. They are fantastic for workouts, as they do not hold moisture......BUT (or should I put BUTT) the best thing of all, they do NOT ride up!!!!!!!
I am going to buy as many pairs possible bc I do not ever want to go on an underwear search again!!! Thank you, JOCKEY!!!!!!!

Victoria's Secret will be out of business soon if they don't bring back the quality and fit of their cotton underpants. The new stuff is GARBAGE!
I went there the other day to stock up on underwear and was horrified at the skimpy, cheaply made junk they're selling. |
| I am glad to know it isn't just me. My VS underwear finally needed replaced after many years of use (they were just so sturdy). What a disappointment to see what the local VS was selling! Okay - I needed to buy a few pairs since I was definitely in need of new underwear and figured that I would get used to the cheaper material. After suffering through a really unpleasant day of wearing my new VS panties and having them ride up and bunch, I thought either I got a defective pair or I had changed sizes. I bought a smaller size despite the fact that I had worn the same size for 20 years. Didn't work. I tried the hipster and the bikini both. Neither worked. They all ride up plus I was already dissatisfied with the thin material. My search began and I encountered other brands with similar problems. At least for me, the panties from the Gap (they're not even 100% cotton) don't fit well nor do Donna Karan's or Macy's Charter Club brand. They just don't cover my seat and they ride up although they are not nearly as bad as VS's panties. Jockey's work the best in terms of fit, comfort and being 100% cotton. They are no frills to say the least, and the waistband is kind of bulky. I wish that I could find a brand that offers 100% cotton with sufficient seat coverage, a better waist band and has a little more style. I am going to check out some of the other brands mentioned in this thread. Who would have thought that it would be hard to find a decent pair of underwear. |

I went on Bare Necessities and bought like 10 pairs of cotton panties; basically, anything that looked comfortable and got good reviews. I was looking for a bikini, but not a string bikini. Both of these were the winners:
http://www.barenecessities.com/dkny-downtown-cotton-hipster-570270_product.htm?pf_id=DKNY570270&search= http://www.barenecessities.com/natori-bliss-cotton-bikini--156058_product.htm?pf_id=Natori156058&search= I like the Natori slightly better than the DKNY. The natori fabric is really soft, stretchy enough that it doesn't cut into my skin, but holds it's shape so it doesn't stretch out or ride up. The DKNY is similar, but not quite as soft and stretchy. FWIW, I used to be a big fan of Gap Body hipsters until the quality declined, so ladies that used to like those may like the ones above. Oh, also, I bought other pairs of Natori and DKNY and didn't like them as much, so I wouldn't recommend the brands as a whole, but these pairs specifically. |

Apologies if someone else has already posted:
Felini (sometimes also available at Costco) and - MAJOR splurge but have never felt anything quite like it -- Spanx underwear. Their bras are also to die for. I have some skin disorders and the softness is utterly soothing -- again, expensive but worth it. |

Why is is impossible to find 100% cotton panties that are cute and comfy?! I've been searching for over a couple of years now. I don't want some silly synthetic blend, or just a cotton crotch or liner (even worse) because they don't breathe and can promote yeast infections.
I swore by VS cotton bikini for over 15 yrs until they changed, and then moved on to the cheaper quality Gap Body, but alas, they also stopped making 100% cotton. Guess I'm stuck with Hanes or Jockey but they just feel very cheap and utilitarian. But hey, at least they still make full cotton undies! I'll gladly pay more for high quality, cute, below-the-waist 100% cotton panties. Does anyone know why manufacturers no longer offer full 100% cotton panties? |
| I bought a 6-pack at H&M for $10. They're not high-end, but soft and cotton and comfy, and fun colors. I'd buy them again. |
| Costco |
| I am getting desperate to locate 100% cotton underwear that is comfortable and high quality. Has anyone tried Hanro? |
| Wacoal makes great 95% cotton 5% spandex cotton undies. For less expensive, I recommend the Jockey comfies. |
Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place there? I couldn't find women's undies that were made of cotton, it was some other modal/rayon crap. |
| I too am in search! I read on another site to try Jockey bikini they are comparable to the VS cotton bikini of the past. All my VS run a bit different, all have holes under the waistband on the left side from my thumb poking through as I pull them on, and no longer stay put on my bootie. They are so cheaply made no a days |
| Aerie makes great quality cotton underwear. I think the fit, cut, and price is better than GapBody and VS. |

My holy grail were the Gap cotton string bikinis in black. I wore a size S or XS. Now they are no longer selling them, I wash mine in cold water and hang to dry to extend the lifespan!
The two closest replacements I've found: K-Mart - Joe Boxer Low-Rise string bikinis http://www.kmart.com/joe-boxer-women-39-s-6-pack-assorted-lowrise-string/p-999000VP46019611P or http://www.kmart.com/joe-boxer-women-s-6-pack-cotton-string-bikini/p-027W007294063001P They are 100% cotton and a good price. You can't pick your assortment, and the patterns are kind of hit and miss, but there seems to be three solids in each pack and the cut is pretty similar to the Gap. I laid them side by side, and the "string" sections of the K-Mart ones are just a tad longer than the Gap string sections. In the Gap undies the top corners of the front triangular piece of fabric curve a little bit towards the back panel, so the string is actually quite short. Whereas the Joe Boxers have a triangular front panel with three straight sides, so the string is longer. The other difference is that they hit a bit lower on the hip. I also think these are worth a try if you wear a Medium or Large: http://www.amazon.com/American-Active-Womens-String-Bikini/dp/B00UZ8EMFG 100% cotton, again you cannot pick your colors. With the discounted Amazon price it's quite affordable, and the cut is pretty close. The comments indicated that they run small, so I ordered a Medium set with my fingers crossed, but there was just too much fabric in the back to make it work for me. I had to return them. I am waiting on an order of the Hanes 100% cotton string bikinis. Will report back. Affordable, assorted colors only, and you have to watch out since the Solids and Prints are 100% cotton but the Heathers and Stripes are 25% polyester according to Amazon (WHY?) I ordered these: http://www.kmart.com/hanes-cotton-string-bikini-3-pack/p-030VA66390412P FAILS: Fruit of the Loom 100% cotton string bikinis - Looking more closely, I may have gotten the wrong product delivered since the ones I got have a strip of stretch lace instead of a solid string, like in the Amazon product photo. Maybe I'll try again, but aside from the lace (which I dislike) the cotton feels extra flimsy and rides up on me almost immediately. These are the ones I thought I was ordering: http://www.amazon.com/Fruit-Loom-Womens-Fashion-Panties/dp/B0034G65SS/ The Jockey string bikinis - 100% cotton and you can get an all-black pack of 3, but the cut was just terminally bizarre on me - the back panel kept emerging in a big flap over the top of my pants, and wearing them felt like a cross between a diaper and Daryl Hannah's getup in Clan of the Cave Bear. If you're missing the old VS cotton bikini panties (not string,) consider Gildan ladies' bikini or hipster bikini 6-pack. Again look out, as the Heathers colors are some cotton-whatever mix while the solids are all cotton. The cotton feels higher quality and the cut (I got the hipsters) aren't bad. |
