I like the Jockey french cut panties and the bikinis. |
| Hanky Panky with lace band all around. |
| gap body ultra low rise hipster (if you are of the non-existent flat backside club this are awesome as you don't have all this extra fabric going half way up your back!), love the hanky panky ones and actually found VERY similar ones to them in target with their line that they carry there (malley and something? or something to that effect) i have loose skin that muffins SO easily with any kind of thicker elastic banding no matter how thin i am- ick! so i only wear things that lay flat at the top. |
| I used to wear VS but now I love Charter Club undies-the Macy's house brand. |
| Great thread. I don't know what VS was thinking! Before VS, I wore Fruit of the Loom from Target. Don't know how they compare now [it was decades ago]. Damn you, Victoria!!! |
They come a little above my csectiom scar. They also dont have a thick elastic band so shouldnt bother it.. |
OP here -- many thanks for all of the responses! I went for some hipsters this weekend on the advice of this poster, and am currently in love. I cannot wait to purge my underwear drawer of the VS bikinis and the horrible Hanes bikinis with the thick band. |
| For over 20 years I bought the VS cotton bikinis and now that they changed the cut and they ride up I found Soma cotton bikinis and I loved them, to my dismay they stopped making the bikini cut in cotton and I am debating going to another cut because the Soma's are great panties. Check them out. They often offer buy 3 get 2 for free. I did try the vanishing edge panties and did not like the feel of the rubbery strips on my skin. Hope this helps a little. If Soma read this post PLEASE keep making the bikini cut in your cotton collection. Many of us like the simple cotton panties with just a little spandex, why did you stop making such a great product? |
I absolutely agree. I asked someone about VS about this and they said they "removed extra fabric" from the underwear. Hello? That "extra fabric" was covering my ass! Now I had to go up a size and they still give me wedgies. I've tried Gap cotton but they fit me awfully. My boyfriend says Hanes looks like grandma underwear, though they are comfy. But they are tight around the top, so that's an issue for the c-section. I'll try some of the suggestions here, thank you!!!!

Look for these:
http://www.maidenform.com/maidenforms-charmed/styles/undies/maidenforms-charmed-cotton-hipster-with-lace-C0401 They are very comfy, don't ride or dig in, and are pretty good about not showing up as panty lines. |

Another vote for Jockey Comfies. No seams, very soft cotton and durable. I still have the two dozen that I bought six years ago. (Warning- stay away from Jockeys Microfiber. It 100% Nylon and does not breathe.) http://www.jockey.com/Catalog/Product/Comfies-Cotton-Bikini

| Also love Hanky Panky and the Make and Model kind from Nordstrom. PP, thanks for tip on Target's Hanky Panky knockoff, I will try it. |
I'm another fan of the DKNY cotton ones. I try to stock up during Nordstron sales (along with the Hanky Panky regular rise). |

This is the best forum ever--I felt so betrayed by VS when they did that! I found one pair in the back of my drawer that was there for lord knows how long and it just makes me mad every time I wear them!
I switched to Hanky Panky, and for things where panty lines are an issue, to Commandos. The elastic tends to wear out on them, but they're totally VPL free. |
