| Costco cotton underwear is excellent and lasts and lasts. |
OMG, thank you both! I feel exactly the same way. I've switched to Jockey after wearing the cotton VS for like 15 years. I (and my butt) can't stand what they're selling now. |
| Jockey or Gap are the best, IMO. |
This is the best thread ever. I've exclusively worn VS for 22 years and I hate the new stuff. Flimsy, poor quality butt floss (and that's the hipsters)! So glad to know alternatives, and most sound inexpensive. Thank you all! |
| I love Gap panties and love that they come in simple colors like black and gray. Husband doesn't need to see me in polka dot jockeys. |
| I've been buying VS cotton panties for years, but I haven't needed to re-stock for a year or so. I did recommend my 17-year-old DD check VS for cute cotton panties with polka dots and stripes, but she came back using words like "slutty" and "cheap." Now I know what happened, it all makes sense now! |
| I seriously want to cry that I found this post! I thought I was the ONLY person on the planet who hates the new VS stuff and wishes like heck that the old cotton hi-briefs would come back!! If I'd known at the time they were changing styles, I would have bought every pair I could get my hands on in a five-state radius! THANK YOU to all of you who have made suggestions about some good alternative underwear. I need to start replacing some of the old VS and I had no idea where to go. I've only ever bought from VS. Looks like they've lost more than one customer over this! |
| I am having the same problem. I have always bought my panties from Victoria's Secret, but I refuse to buy them anymore. It has been well over a year since I have bought them. They are now made in China and are no longer 100% cotton. I spend all day pulling them out of my butt! Will be trying the DKNY from Norstorm's. |

I loved GAP body 100% cotton but just found out that they have been discontinued! I complained bitterly to customer service but I doubt they give a hoot. It's back to Jockey for me - string is great - but more expensive than GAP.

Jockey is the closest I could find, too. Feels similar to VS but not quite as great.

I saw this and panicked. But just went on line and they are still selling the low rise cotton hipsters I love. They are 93% cotton. Are these the ones you are talking about? (I ordered 10 just in case, needed them anyway as I haven't replaced mine in years...) |
| Thank goodness it's not just me. I always bought VS cotton. I found an unused pair from a few years ago, and the new ones are awful in comparison. I will try Jockey. I would have stocked up on the old VS had I known. |
| Quick comment on the Jockey's...I've been wearing them since high school, so that's for 30 years. Yeah, I'm the same height and weight. Started out with the french cut, now like the hipsters, but I tell you, they've changed the style a bit. I find the leg openings a little tight. So searching for an alternative. Cotton all the way. Will try the DNKY suggested and the Hanes from Target. Thanks for the info ladies. |
| I never wore VS undies, but I have a couple of nighties from 20+ years ago and they are still the softest fabric despite a few holes. Purchases in the last 5 years already gone because material pilled, etc. Poor quality now. I never go in there anymore. |
| I too loved the old VS. I then discovered Gap body string bikini, just like the old VS. But just found out this weekend when I tried to restock, that they no longer make them. I am so bummed!! Make & Model looks to have a good quality one, but I can't find it. I saw it at Nordstrom Rack, but they didn't have my size. The regular Nordstrom doesn't carry it anymore. I think it must also be going out of production. I tried jockey, but it just doesn't work for me. Anyone have a tried and true cotton string bikini that they absolutely love? I am desperate people! |
