I think the Knicks turned NYC around.
Mamdani is a feel good politician (for many) who hopefully will be a good mayor. Remains to be seen. |
| DCUM is so closeted right wing and racist. But guess what? You’re in the minority in DC. Thank God for that. |

From the Post:
“As of Thursday, Lewis George was leading in seven of the city’s eight wards — all except Ward 3, the city’s Whitest and wealthiest one. Lewis George performed best in D.C.’s younger precincts, winning by a wide margin across polling sites where more than 60 percent of the population is less than 35 years old, according to a Washington Post analysis of election and Census Bureau data as of Thursday. McDuffie eked out a win — by about four points — in precincts with an older population, the analysis showed.” Just further proof that DCUM is not DC. |
Amen |
LOL two years is what … a long time? Because in my world two years doesn’t just make crime go away or change. It’s still happening. And just wait - school is out. 12 YEARS OLD! |
These are our voting choices in the entire metro area and several counties out. Before the next person says, you voted for this. I voted for none of this. |
| DC needs to be taken over for the good of all. |
You sound like the Iranian people. Well, guess what. It didn't work for them and some magical Trump fairy daddy isn't going to come and make things better here. He will just make things worse. His vision is for an America that only serves his interest. Don't wish him on us. |
"Democracy is bad actually"? Is that where you're going with this? |
Right?? It's shocking. Free DC. |
Democracy is how we got Trump. Is that a good thing? |
Does anyone doubt that? MD and VA have exponentially more people here than DC and thus the DC contingent is much less representative of the area due to what a tiny slice of our city is represented on this board. Anyone who lives in DC and spends time on this board knows that it's much more about a suburban wealthy mentality than a DC mentality, wealthy or poor. |
I know it's a tangent, but Trump's election has done more to make me question our particular version of democracy than anything else in history. Perhaps a parliamentary Democracy is a better option? I think our particular structures / information / education system is broken. |
I would be shocked if most of the racist posts about DC are from people who live in DC. Extreme prejudice against DC by suburbanites in this region and neighboring regions has been a defining characteristic of the dynamic of our area since white flight happened. |
