Honestly, though I loathe Trump, I wouldn't be all that upset with a fed takeover if the FreeDC slate wins the mayor's race and the majority of the counsel. I'd rather see a fed takeover than the policies that crowd is going to try to impose in terms of out of control spending, tax hikes, no understanding of basic business economics and extremely soft-on-crime policies. It was the control board in the 1990s that produced us Tony Williams, who was the best mayor that DC has had. The key difference though, is that the Control Board occurred during the Clinton Administration and the appointed Control Board was highly qualified. I don't have much faith in the ability of the Trump administration to appoint anyone qualified to deal with the District. We are screwed either way.

I agree. I can't follow all the propaganda mailer attack ads. But getting under Trump's skin is 100% a good sign.

I'm not voting JLG but in a city that despises Trump having him publicly announce she's his least-preferred candidate is the best publicity she could have hoped for. I already assumed she would be our next Mayor but this is pretty much a clincher.

I think if we had a federal takeover, it would basically turn DC into Hong Kong pre- China control. There would be hyper-favorable tax rates, the poors would all get pushed out and there would be military on ever corner.
