RL players get out when you can! +1 If the goal is to play in RL or Aspire, basically just want to avoid the Academy commitment, then where would you suggest one goes from Arlington RL? |
+1 If the goal is to play in RL or Aspire, basically just want to avoid the Academy commitment, then where would you suggest one goes from Arlington RL? I think if that is the goal - then the answer is that it depends. If you want to be on the most successful team at that level, just look at the table and you will have your population. If you want to feel prioritized by your club, then any of the local clubs that don’t have NL teams should work. If you care about coaching - that’s team specific. If you care about time to practice or playing with classmates - you already know the answer. I think a lot of the problem is that people care about all these things and frankly, if a perfect team existed, it would be super hard to get on. We just love our kids and don’t want any trade offs for them. |

I suppose my question also was indirectly asking....are other RL clubs similar to Arlington in the problems/risks you laid out? Or is this a specific Arlington issue? I'm trying to follow the GA/ASPIRE hierarchy and comparisons, so feel free to throw some of those clubs in there too. | If you’re still an RL player after U15 looking for that nod to the NL team then move along to somewhere else that spot isn’t opening for you. ARL NL teams will bring in players from outside the club before elevating their own. It’s a fact! |
| Have a u-little club player (boys side). Interested in knowing how many of the Pre-Academy 1 players make the NL team vs how many kids will come from outside the club. |
| Circulating back to people's questions about timing of notifications. During the second tryout (for U15), my child (returning player) was told that the team placement notifications would be coming via email on Friday (5/8) or Monday at the latest. However, if players don't get notified by then, it is possible that they are on a waitlist and then it is just a matter of waiting for others to decline offers. |
Its going to depend on the year. I would say on average probably 6-10 kids from pa1 0-2 kids from pa 2 and the rest from outside the club. On the boys side. This may change if ECNL stays 8/1-7/31 and Mls Next stays birth year. You might see Ecnl have mostly boys with late birthdays and MLS NEXT have mostly early birthdays. |
Short answer - YES. Longer answer - each age group/team has its own dynamics, so it can mean anything, but most likely explanation is that if you don't hear anything while you know others are hearing, then you're almost certainly on a waiting list. |
| Any U12 boys with offer in hand out there? |
|
Any offers for u11 boys?
|

Thought we’d hear by now….
Tryouts ended Wednesday. |
So does that mean no one has heard yet? We thought maybe we were out of luck. |
if you haven't heard back by now at best your DD is being considered for team 5 or 6, again at best |
|
No one we know at U11/U12, including many returning players, has offers for white/blue/black.
I’d expect today. |
Please stop doing this. Every age group seems to be on a different timeline. U10 and U11 have not heard. |
