Why might someone need to buy 16+ gallons of whole milk from Costco?

Exactly. Nothing wrong with some milk in your cofee or with cookies but it is absolutely revolting to lay in bed surrounded by Burger King, Chik Fil'A and candy wrappers slugging milk directly from the gallon jug. Like how mucousy are you? It's gross for a grown adult.

Revolting is eating those meals, with heavy meat...

no, because freezing extends the shelf life. That's why you can freeze vegetables, meat, etc. and it stays fresh longer than it would in your fridge or on your counter. Have you never encountered frozen food before?

+1. Costco, started as Price Club, was designed to be a provider to small businesses- my parents were one of its first members. Haven’t you noticed all the frozen food - especially Asian - is what you get in restaurants?

+1 Costco milk usually doesn’t expire for a few weeks and my now-21 year old kid easily drinks half a gallon per day when she’s home from school.

+1, honestly, that’s all I ever have, and frankly, if it’s good enough for me, it’s good enough for everyone else as well. No calories, no sugar, no caffeine, no alcohol and nothing artificial. It truly IS all anyone needs. Other beverages should be heavily taxed.

Those of you with teens or adults buying gallons per week, what are you doing with it? I have teens and we never buy milk. Mine don’t drink milk. Are they drinking it? We buy it when they want to bake or occasionally make a recipe with it. That’s it.

I assume they are drinking it - it's still very odd to me of course to drink anything more than a glass but apparently people/kids are drinking 1/2 gallon a day

I bought a gallon of whole milk last week. its expiration date is March 11. So I disagree that it "expires so quickly."

But for 16+ gallons, I'd need about 3 months into the future -- and a much larger refrigerator.

my guess is some sort of child care arrangement.
