Was Baron Trump calling a hook up he met online?

+1. He seems to be a smart and bright kid.

I’ve never heard or read anything that indicates how smart Barron is. How did you reach this conclusion?

+1 calling 911 when someone's being assaulted doesn't take a lot of brain power. Even a child can be taught to call 911 when they see someone being assaulted.

He saw a 10-15 second FaceTime that showed a woman he had never even met being harmed and he called police who came and recused her. According to her he saved her life as she wasn’t sure how far her ex boyfriend would go and thought he might kill her.

This wasn’t politics. This was a human caring about another human. Makes me sad to see all the hate and criticism he is getting.

How did he know where she lived if they only met online (sorry, haven't read the whole thread).

Seriously. How many russians can the trump family be entangled with?

I have heard rumors that he has special needs. I think this is the first time I have heard him speak, glad he can formulate a sentence, I was worried about him. I will say that I was impressed that during the inauguration he made an effort to shake Biden's hand.

He did waste the time of the British 911 agent by not doing normal stuff like giving his name and how he knew the woman getting beat up, but at least he cared enough to call.

No, have you read the transcript? This was a terrible call protocol, and helps explain why response times are often so poor in the UK. They don't need to know how long he has known the girl, or how he knows her or anything. If someone is in danger, they should try to ascertain the address. Baron kept trying to correctly redirect the dispatcher back to that important fact.

+1. Historians will be only ones to sort this all out

Money doesn’t grow on trees and dispatchers need to make sure that Barron isn’t an American kid punking them and sending officers on a made up call. It’s not like they have some magic ability to sense that he’s the President’s kid trying to save his online girlfriend

Hilarious that people actually are this gullible. They had a year to spin doctor this from a scandal to a situation where you think Barron looks innocent???
Can’t wait to find out what actually went on.

It probably makes it really hard to meet girls. So he’s online. And apparently met some Russian woman in London? This all seems hugely problematic and is probably why he was instructed not to reply to any of the follow up inquiries from law enforcement. I mean, he was a witness to a crime so of course they tried to interview him. But 50/50 she’s a honey pot I’d think. It is sweet that he tried to get her help though. I feel bad for him on a lot of levels.

No. He's not online meeting girls because it's hard as the president's son to meet them in person. He's online meeting girls because he's a 19 yr old. Full stop. That's how they meet people.

He's a college student at NYU...which is in NYC, one of the most populous cities in America. There are other ways for him to meet girls.

DP. The PP is correct. Sadly, this is how young people meet one another these days. Get with the program.

I have kids the same age. They are not meeting randos online from across the ocean. One is dating someone they met in school and the other one is dating someone they met at their summer job. Normal 19-20 year olds are not having virtual relationships with people miles away that they have basically nothing in common with.

I feel bad for B and think he’s likely neurodivergent and his dad won’t acknowledge it. The way he dresses and wears his hair, which is very dissimilar to other boys his age, is I think another sign of this.

I also agree he has something going on, but I would attribute the way he dresses and wears his hair to the demands of his authoritarian father and not to neurodivergence. Trump hit Don Junior when he showed up to take him to a Yankee game and Junior was wearing a Yankee jersey instead of a suit.

He's also an Andrew Tate defender

Didn’t Trump even say Barron was responsible for getting Tate back in the US and away from his criminal case overseas. Not a good look. And weird for someone his age to be mixed up in that. Where was Melania.

How does he sound? Can’t pull up the audio.

It is amazing so many of you are missing the point. Yes, he did a noble thing.

But what the F was he doing in a relationship/friendship with someone overseas who facetimes him (the US President's son) at the same time she is getting assaulted by a Russian.

How many relationships overseas like this does he have?
Where was secret service?

The gaslighting continues.

Calm down. We are very liberal family in Arlington and my kids attended several international schools around the world. They do have friends in London, Dubai and Singapore and they talk to each other at different times. Have you kids ever travel internationally and meet anyone or you just go to cruises?

His own words he has literally never met her, he "met her" ONLINE. Stop gaslighting. This is weird as hell.

It's actually not all that weird.
I'm over 50 and I have online friends I have never met in person.
My young adult children have online friends they've never met in person, mostly from gaming.

It’s not super clear whether he’s ever met her in person. They “met” online but could have met in person at a later date. I agree many teens have online friends but I would be worried if my kid was describing an older woman in another country as “someone he was very close to.”

I know you guys think this is weird but there's no conspiracy.

Lonely people start text-only relationships like this all the time. I have a friend who does it and is always texting some married dude who lives 300 miles away. I would imagine his weird childhood has made Barron an incredibly lonely young man.

How old is your friend? I think that makes a difference. A 19 year old in college should have other options to make real life friends. Even when I was in college the Internet existed and there were social chat areas that were for university kids only. That would make me more comfortable as a parent than randomly reaching out to people.
