So what happens when the Federal government can’t issue Nov Food Stamps?

If 40,000,000 Americans start starving in the next 3 weeks, I expect going to the grocery store will be a dicey proposition. People Will be waiting out in the parking lot to beat the piss out of you or rob you at gun point to take your groceries while you are loading the car. Or expect mass rioting and looting of stores for food. You will see homes broken into by people looking for food.

LOL, if you have the energy to rob and kill, you can get a job. F the moochers.

Have you seen the economy? There are not jobs out there.

People on food stamps HAVE job requirements. Wtf is wrong with you?

They have work requirements that can be fulfilled through a job or community service. But not only are there few jobs, but community service is out of space for enrollees too. I have a friend who is the community service liaison for his church. The state or county calls and asks if there are any projects he needs help with at the church. He creates maybe 100 hours a month. But now the state is asking if he can find more (like 500 hours per month) because there simply aren't enough community service projects. Between court ordered, school ordered, SNAP community service, etc., they just can't come up with enough projects. So people who need SNAP cannot find a job and can't even fulfill the requirement through community service. They are screwed.

If you think republicans are going to get blamed when democrats keep voting no on the CR, you’re living in an echo chamber.

The fact that democrats , no matter the reason, are the ones voting no is what lays the blame on them. Most people are not sophisticated with their viewpoints and many do not have time or energy to listen to Dems explain their decisions.

Hahahaha. You are in the bubble. All polls say otherwise. The ballroom building and bailing out Argentina have absolutely broken through to the low info people. They are not happy.

I’m surprised that you still find polls relevant despite how wrong they have been.

Right. Only what comes out of Trump's mouth is the truth. Make sure you repeat that to yourself when you try to find a big enough cardboard box for your family

If, as you say, polls are irrelevant because they are wrong, how do you gauge support for Trump and his policies? What metric are YOU using? Or do you just consult yourself, as Trump does?

Polling undermines your assertion. The public is blaming the GOP and the optics that a PP noted of the ballroom, private planes and foreign bailouts of billionaires do not help the GOP cause.

What were the questions that were asked?
How were they asked?
What were the answer options?
Who answered the poll?

Worst part is it’s happening over Thanksgiving. Most recipients are children and elderly. These people will go hungry. If you care, donate today to your local food bank. For every 1 family they fed, snap fed 9. They won’t be able to keep up, but they can try.

MAGA does not care. They only care about stuffing their own pockets. MAGA wants tax breaks and to see a little immigration enforcement porn.

There will be no sleep lost at the GOP.

I'm in a red area. Our rep consistently votes with Trump even though it causes more suffering to the 40% of his constituents who are low income.

No one call him out on it. He keeps winning. They KNOW they don't have to help anyone. There is no expectation.

MAGA likes to cosplay the whole “pull yourself up by your bootstraps” thing even though stats show red states are more likely to need government assistance. It’d be comical if it wasn’t so sad.

Kinda scary that we actually have 12% on SNAP. Not judging but how sad for a rich country like US to have this much starving people. $180 month is nothing. I think we as a family of 4 spend that for 19 days of groceries/food. I can't imagine how much nutrition you can get with that amount - no wonder everyone's unhealthy in this country. It's just sad that this is the reality never mind what comes next.

For 10 days ^

how many MAGAs on SNAP?
Anonymous
If dems vote yes, millions will lose their healthcare means unnecessary deaths will rise.
If dems vote no and shutdown continues, millions will go hungry means social unrest.

So this is not depends on dems.

Wake up, Republicans. This shit ain't a good look.

You are aware that the ballroom was privately funded, right? Private funds means no taxpayer money. You cannot expect them to divert funds donated to the ballroom, and redistribute the money in to random Americans.

You do realize this is just the word of Trump, right? There’s no documentation backing up how this project is being financed or who is paying. This is currently all in Trump’s head. But I’m sure we will know more in a couple of weeks…
