20 somethings are particularly bad at guessing ages. I think they expect someone 35-40 to look “old” in a way that doesn’t happen until later when the hormones change. They don’t pick up on the changes that a person who is also 35 notices. |
I find that it really angers white women that Black and Asian women age so much more gracefully. Being the standard bearer for white European beauty throughout their 20s and into their 30s for some, to then crash out and look haggard in their 40s while the Black and Asian women look so much better kills because everything about white culture revolves around being better than someone else. |
Troof! |
I don’t think most women think about it much, with the notable exception of the poster who always parks themselves in any thread remotely related to aging in order to post over and over how badly white women age |
I look old for my age. Life’s been hard!
But given the alternative and having seen good friends die well before their time, I’ll take it. Who cares tbh. How you feel for your age is much more important. |
But every single woman that posts on here definitely looks way younger thanks to genes! It’s all their amazing genes you jealous old hag! All of you look your age. You are ridiculous to think you don’t. Including my dark skinned friends. All of you. This nonsense is nonsense. |
Not really. My black and Asian friends all have really bad melasma and skin discoloration and can’t use lasers. Their grays show more. They actually look worse. Sorry. |
Your stupid anecdote doesn’t count |
I've lived 68 years on this planet and in 8 major cities. I have never heard a single woman bragging like this. |
I don't think JLo looks 36. On stage and in edited photos, she, of course, looks fantastic. Op close, she looks her age, but still gorgeous. |
I have a neighbor who is 65 and retiring this year. She absolutely could pass for a 55 year old woman. Amazingly smooth skin.
But she is the exception, not the norm. Otherwise agree that most people look their age range. We're all pretty good at knowing if someone is 45 and good looking for their age or 45 and unhealthy looking for their age. Even a 45 year old Asian woman is not going to look like a 25 year old Asian woman. At best she might look 40 instead of 45. |
I think men drop off a cliff in their 50s, too. Even the fit ones have grey and receding hair. Men generally don't take as good care of their skin as women, so you start to see a lot of skin damage, especially among those who spend a lot of time outdoors, like golfers. Men who don't lift seem to lose muscle at an accelerated rate, start to look weak and soft, and often have bad posture from too much time at a desk. Noting this because I think from 50 on, men age at least as much as women. |
I hate to break it to you, but this is all anecdotal. So, it does indeed. Sorry! Also, my south Asian friends look far older than their age. Is this a fun game? Not really, but you wanted to play. |
