Not Josh Hutcherson... the worst Peeta. He just couldn't meet the fire of Katniss.

Yes, to me he is one of the worst casting mistakes in the history of film. He had such a little mean face, not attractive enough. He needed to have quiet kindness and more presence.

I also thought Katniss was horribly cast. I love Jennifer Lawrence but she didn’t look like a Katniss. Katniss was supposedly starving, malnourished. Jennifer Lawrence was of average height and weight- they needed a waif. I thought her acting was fine but she did not look right at all for the role

I think that’s fine and probably a deliberate choice actually, a good one: you don’t want to promote anorexia to teens with a beautiful skinny heroine. She looked strong. In the book she does hunt for food so not sure she was even truly starving.

Eh, it talks about them eating dandelion soup and some wild rabbit that she could hunt after trekking for miles. Katniss should have been wiry, if not waiflike. Her younger sister was better cast. Small, looked younger than stated age, etc

The 1990s Little Women, except for older Amy. In fact everyone was so well cast that the older Amy stuck out like a sore thumb IMO

Yes! Agree with that. I would have put Natalie Portman in her place.

Agree- all of the robbers and the hotel owner were perfectly cast. Julia Roberts is one of my favorite actresses but I didn’t like her in that role. She was forgettable. Couldn’t figure out why these men were fighting over her.
