teachers leaving Wootton?

What a mess. There are people who don't know what the other staff person does, they will tell you to contact their friend colleague but that friend colleague does not handle that matter, then what?

What is your question?

I liked Seyoum at Magruder but IMO she was too interested in having a friendly relationship with students rather helping teachers and holding students accountable.

Is this some kind of riddle?! 🤔

Unfortunately not. They are getting one from Magruder who is awful. Lots of complaints from staff about her.

Who? Why?
Seyoum is incompetent as a AP. No follow through, doesn’t meet deadlines, and gives empty promises in person, but rarely responds to emails. Self promoting and rarely shows up for work. Really, she’s out all the time and when she is there, she comes in late. She will smile on your face while throwing you under the bus. Staff were constantly going the EFR about her not meeting MCEA contractual obligations. Oh and as for experience, I think she’s only been an AP for two years. She won’t survive at Wootton.

Totally agree. Sorry, Wootton.

One of the many reasons staff who had to deal with her don’t like her and one of many reasons students don’t respect her. She’s useless as a AP and with all the complaints she had at Magruder, it’s not surprising they got rid of her. She will not be missed.

Lots of upward failures for sure.

Anonymous wrote:DS was a pass runner for the counseling office, so take with a grain of salt. He said it became a hang out spot for kids who didn’t want to go to class. They would order Door Dash, goof around. When counselors would send them to class, kids said they were racist. So admin told them they weren’t allowed to send kids back to class and to let them hang out. Kids bragged that they could just write a letter calling a teacher racist and get them fired.

If this is true, and the new admin just want to be liked and don't want to hold students accountable, won't the problems from last year just continue?

Unfortunately many APs in MCPS are like that.

She will fit right in with the rest of admin.

Facts. I felt that she is being groomed for higher admin roles based on her background. I see this a lot with admin who are on a fast track. Lots and lots of training out of the building so staff and students never see them or feel they are doing their job properly.

Ha! That’s funny. She is definitely not on the fast track to anything. She could barely do her job. No need to make assumptions, the people who worked with her know what a mess she is.

Sounds like she’s on the mcps fast track to leadership.

She is already in leadership. It doesn’t take much to get there in mcps especially if you are a minority. Sounds like no one liked or wanted her at Magruder. #Dance of the lemons

Still need to hire AP Calc and AP Chem teacher. Only one week left. This high turnover may have lasting problems.
