Getting over affair where terrible things were said about you

The board is meant to post random problems which is what OP is doing. Why are we complaining about people using this board for its intended purpose?

OP, there's not much to talk about with an affair partner so he's going to talk badly about you. This shouldn't be a surprise.

Now decide if it was an affair which involves deception or a too close friendship that included sex. An affair would be difficult if not impossible to forgive since I can't forgive the lying. A friendship that became sexual would be a problem because why would that friendship be necessary if you're married?

If you're not having sex with your spouse that's a problem too. There are also high risk thrill seeking activities that don't involve breaking up the home or making your spouse uncomfortable.
