The takeaway warning you give is you married for the wrong reasons and were just gold-digging. So yeah I think most men understand there are those types out there. |
No golddigging, I have excellent education and always worked. Just a pressure not to be "an old virgin", like for many girls back then. Women are under pressure to get married now, too. Marriage is the only way for financial stability for many women, and it's the easiest to do if the guy is older. Just telling these men - don't fool yourself that women actually want you. They don't. |
You sound really bitter now. Hindsight is 20/20, but try to work on yourself in the now, rather than regretting your wasted years when you were more immature and not marriage material. It will happen for you. |
A lot of women are immature just like men in their 20s, have little experience and are unable to choose a good partner. Older men are openly exploiting this immaturity under a disguise of women “needing” them. |
Um, what? You’re 47, not 77. I’m the same age and felt no pressure to get married early before having sex so as not to be an “old virgin.” Were you Amish or something? |
Not Amish but yes, a “Christian “ family |

Pretty much every guy wants a strong muscular woman and there aren't enough of them around. I got lucky once when I was young and got to have a relationship with a woman on the track team who threw the shot put and benched 265 lbs, which is exactly 100 lbs more than I bench.
Now, I date anyone that goes to the gym regularly and that's over 40. I'm 46, so I'm focused on the 40 to 55 crowd, but there are very few single women in this age group at my gym in Arlington. Maybe I need to drive out to Reston or Sterling to meet these women. |
You need to try approach women who look younger. You would be surprised they could be well into 40s My problem at my gym (I’m at Equinox) and pretty much everywhere with in-person dating is that much younger -late 30s men approach me. Then I tell them I’m 47…. A 40s woman who is working out for 10 hrs a week several years would look like a 30s woman to you |
A woman benching 265? Hard to believe unless she’s a genetic freak and on steroids. That’s almost world record levels of strength for a woman. |
I love her and the PP for wanting this woman. |
Or she weighed well over 200lbs and wasn't a tight 120lb bodybuilder girl. No woman under 160lbs is going to be benching anywhere near 265, as the record is around 200lbs for a 150lb middle weight class roughly. That's raw, no bench shirt. Kinda bad that dude was saying he could only bench 165 though. Most boys can do that by 15 years old. |
I suppose she could have been lying to me. Maybe she only benched 200. I remember one time we were play wrestling and she pushed me really hard all of a sudden and I fell back on the sofa, so she was really strong. Also, she had a hard time finding jeans that fit around her thighs. She was a little overweight, but behind a small layer of fat, she was solid muscle. I would put her at 5'6" and 170 or 180, so she outweighed me by 30 lbs. She should have done some powerlifting competitons. 💪 |
She was exaggerating most likely as many people do. Or perhaps she meant "machine bench" where you can bench around twice as much poundage as free weight bar benching. |

Op here -
Dating a former d1 athlete now. She’s fine…but boring. Between training for races, gym, recovery, sleep, corporate job….she is like a robot and all of her friends who are all fitness types are the same. I’ve realized esp after Alysa Liu winning the gold, I really like the alt girl/art girls better and it’s easier to just pay for their Pilates/fitness classes and get them semi in shape rather than making an athlete interesting/cultured. I fumbled my ex |
