Mass Deportation: this is going to be expensive

Tons, which is why Trump’s cabinet picks should be subject to FBI background checks, like all other federal employees or contractors with access to classified and highly sensitive information.

And I believe everyone who enters our country should be vetted and not "undocumented."

Lol. Would love to see a citation for this. Of course you won't be able to provide one and will scream "cry more liberal" when asked.

It’s not. Undocumented immigrants pay $96B in taxes annually at all levels to offset benefits.

Let’s fine Walmart for underemployment of its workers, who use benefits disproportionately.

Let’s fine white plumbers and electricians and severs who don’t report all their income.

It is adorable that you believe $96B comes anywhere close to covering the cost of massive amounts of illegal immigrants in our society.

Anonymous wrote:Do not care. The medicine is expensive. Democrats should have thought about this before having mass open borders and allowing anyone to walk in if all they said was 'asylum'. Yes, it will cost a lot of money to fix the cesspool left by the Democrats.

It will be offset though by the tax savings we will get since our schools and hospitals will no longer be overrun. They will finally stop increasing our property taxes to keep paying for more and more schools and teachers who can teach ESL.

You also cannot place a price on our safety and national security. It was so disturbing when they reported how many ISIS affiliates had infiltrated in through our porous borders allowed by Biden, Harris, and the Dems.

Look, being hard-line about this is going to produce heartbreaking stories and photos. It will be a bitter pill. But you wouldn't have to go put people and families in detention centers if they never came here illegally or by gaming the asylum system in the first place. We are an autonomous country that is allowed to exist and have borders. Once we show spine and back bone about being tough on immigration, guess what? People will get the message to not even come and they won't take stupid risks to even try. Moral hazard. In the end, we will save many more lives and suffering by removing all incentives to coming here illegally in the first place. By allowing people in who are caught and released or who can stay for years by gaming the asylum system, you just keep encouraging more and more to take stupid risks and ruin our entire control over immigration. That's a far worse option that inadvertently causes much more suffering.

But PP wants to make plain out American the spies who will keep tabs on them while they 15 years for their hearings.

Mass deportation will put a dent in crime committed by illegal immigrants.

You are positing that American citizens are going to rape and murder American women and girls because you are predicting prices of goods and services go up?

Why would American men rape and murder because of inflation?

Don't be obtuse.

Robberies, carjackings, thefts, shoplifting, identity theft, embezzling and other types of crimes are the ones that will increase because of inflation and higher costs. There is evidence to make that link.

In addition to taxes, illegal immigrants put around $254 billion a year into the US economy. And, the cost TO the US taxpayer is significantly less than that.

What is your point?

Tourists also pour in billions of dollars into our economy. When you travel to Europe, does the fact you pay VAT, hotel, and all sorts of other taxes there entitle you to their country's benefits that are given to citizens? Hell no. He argument that illegal immigrants pay taxes via sales, etc. is dumb. Those are consumptive taxes everyone pays. We don't grant citizenship to tourists simply because they come here and eat food or buy clothes. The lion's share of taxes are paid for by INCOME taxes to both the state and federal govt. You cannot earn legal income in the United States without a valid I9 and a SSN/ITN.

Pray tell how all of these illegal immigrants are holding legal jobs with valid I9s and are all getting SSN/ITN to pay their required share of INCOME taxes that our citizens are forced to do. Taxes paid from consumption is a ludicrously stupid argument.

Define crime. Because coming in illegally is a crime. Driving around without insurance is a crime. Working without a valid i9 and not paying state and federal income tax is a crime. Skipping out on hospital bill payments is a crime. Stealing identities and social security numbers so you can work is a crime. You are on,y looking at a fraction of crimes illegal immigrants commit if you think murders are all that matters.

I bought a brand new car and was hit in less than a week after getting it. The guy who got out to look basically spoke zero English and high tailed it out of there, probably because he had no insurance and was undocumented. Now I, as a law abiding citizen, get screwed because I had to pay to fix everything and my insurance went up because I was hit by an undocumented migrant who had no insurance and broke even more laws by hit and running.

+1 The same thing happened to me. A non-english speaking man sideswiped my car in a starbucks drive through of all places. We both got out and I simply stated he hit my car. He walked back to his truck and fled. Fantastic.

Imagine a man rapes and kills your daughter instead of damaging your car? We need the border secured. Trump has a mandate to do that now, and he will.

Anyone who wants to take their daughter to a foreign country to be raped and killed by a legal citizen of that country- feel free. Take your car along and let it be hit into and crumpled up, too.

You too are an a**. All odf this conclusion jumping.

No one is defending a criminal. Just calling out a slanderous racist.

I think the Laken Riley murder was abhorrent. I also think that it is abhorrent to think that all people who are fleeing their countries to come to the US are doing so to kill and harm Americans.

I would also like to know who is going to do the work that many American citizens do not want to do - and how a lack of farm workers is going to help inflation. Or is there a line of American citizens waiting to slaughter chickens and pick blueberries who have been waiting for more of these jobs to open up?

Trump likes big business. Big business obviously likes cheap labor. Tell me how this is going to work out.

Let's up the ante for the employer.

Make it a criminal offense with significant fines and mandatory jail time for the C-suite (leadership) and board of directors. We can allocate the 96 billion in taxes paid by undocumented immigrants for enforcement. I bet the employment of persons who are not lawfully able to work drops when the CEO faces 10 years in jail and a 10 million dollar fine (noninsurable or reimbursable) for employing a dozen or so illegals. Your Uncle John who hired the guy to help with the fence? He's off to jail for a year. 50,000 dollar fine.

You can try to get rid of the Second Amendment, do your best.

People say they want the country to be safer. That would do it. Won't happen in my lifetime though, unfortunately. But I've already bought my retirement home where I don't have to worry about it, so in 5 years I really don't care what happens here anymore.

You hate the freedom and right the constitution gives to America citizens to own guns. Enjoy your retirement.

Yes, I think that amendment is outdated with today's technology. I hate the mass shootings, and that kids have to do active shooter drills starting in kindergarten. It's only going to get worse as weaponry advances. And yes, I will, thank you.

- but you still voted for two people who both boasted about owning automatics. Brilliant logic there, PP.

Moron.

Was there another candidate? I just prefer to live in a country where gun ownership is not necessary.

What country is it unnecessary to own a gun in?

Gun ownership is not mandatory in the US. Gun ownership is not a requirement to live in the US.

I don’t understand why people think Americans should discard rights because they don’t like them. They are rights, for everyone. If you don’t like the right, just personally decline. Don’t think everyone should give up rights just because you don’t want them.

Just because I was born American does not mean I have to agree with everything in the constitution.

Correct. But also you should not want to take away the rights of other Americans based on your opinion. Don’t they get their opinion too? Or does just your opinion matter?

What country are you retiring to that is so incredibly safe and crime free that guns are completely unnecessary?

You believe having guns reduces crime? I think the statistics in the US show the opposite. On the other hand there are plenty of countries where gun ownership is illegal or highly regulated and their crimes rates are much lower. Japan had 3 non-gang-related gun homicides last year. But you obviously think they need guns to reduce shoplifting.

Do you think Americans should keep the constitution in place, or get rid of it?

Why can’t Republican support e-verify? Don’t you think a lot of the draw would disappear if it’s wasn’t so easy to employ undocumented workers?

Illinois Bans Most Employers from Using E-Verify

FAIR Take | August 2024

Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker (D) recently signed into law a bill that significantly hampers employers’ ability to utilize E-Verify to check the work authorization of their prospective employees. Following California’s lead, Illinois becomes the second state to impose restrictions on E-Verify usage.

https://www.fairus.org/legislation/state-and-local/illinois-bans-most-employers-using-e-verify

Not shockingly, this article is misleading.

Whether intentional or just poor drafting, the Illinois Legislature’s changes to the Act will effectively ban most Illinois employers from using E-Verify, and possibly prohibit employers from ever taking adverse actions against employees with discrepancies in their work authorization documentation.
https://www.fordharrison.com/is-illinois-trying-to-bar-the-use-of-e-verify-again

Let’s try a non-employment law firm whose bottom line isn’t impacted by these changes.

Go for it.

Some of us do not agree that the constitution gives American citizens writ large those rights. The terms in the actual amendment have been manipulated by right wings SC judges to state that it applies to all citizens, but as we saw with Roe, these things can remain open to interpretation.
