Time to come together and move forward as one nation

But no, I'm not going to "come together" with people who think that I don't deserve to make healthcare decisions about my own body or think that their right to own an AR 15 is more important than my and my children's right to not get randomly shot in public.

I'm sorry, I just can't "come together" with people who believe those things.

Exactly. We are so far past Kumbaya.

Given his track record of stealing and bullying, how do Trump voters think he will be able to safeguard the country? Don’t you think he will sell favors and information to get richer and richer? Is that really the kind of person you willingly voted for?

I really don’t understand the educated Trump voter.

Must be lovely to be so unaffected by the likely events to come.

I work for a private corporation that cut our division from 350 to 50.

There is no right to employment.

How efficient is the company now?

But keep in mind: the mandate is clear. Trump won the popular vote. "Unity" will not be defined as consensus governing to accommodate radical Dem policies.

Another Trump voter here. I don’t need any apologies. I just want our country to begin to mend.

Why TF would anyone apologize to Trump voters?

Such a gaslighting abuser comment.

Serious question. Why are you on this thread since you clearly have no interest in moving forward as one nation as the OP proposes? There are 7,999,543 other threads where you can spew your hatred about Trump and those who voted for him.

How exactly do you or the OP propose we all "come together"? The two sides have such fundamentally different views, what do you think we should compromise on exactly? Please give specfic examples of how to do this.

It’s really not that complicated.

Step 1. Stop spewing hatred.

Step 2. If you know someone who voted for a different presidential candidate, sit down with them and actually try to understand why they voted the way they did. If you can’t agree, agree to disagree and acknowledge the other’s right to their opinion. Do not spew hatred in the process.

Step 3. Purposefully meet people who have different opinions than you and engage in step 2.

Step 4. Get your news from a wide range of sources and perspectives. Then engage in Steps 2 and 3.

Step 5. If you’re unwilling to engage in steps 1-4, seek help.

Step 6. Contemplate what you’ve learned by engaging in steps 1-5 and find some common ground.

Aa new Trump voter I am able to do the above with my friends who voted for Harris and guess what: we are still friends and respect each other.

Your Harris-voting friends don't respect you. They may pretend to, but they don't.

F anything related to unity. Trumpers don’t get to hurl garbage for 9 years and get unity. Nope

Absolutely not. Besides, as a Black woman, anybody who expressed support for Trump was always against me and never a friend. How could they.

Let’s now put all that behind us and work together, as one nation, to make America a better place; a place our children and grandchildren will be even more proud to call home.

Who’s with me?

How do you come together with people who won't respect you because of the color of your skin, the person you love or the religion you practice?

Since you seem unaware,

Color? J.D. Vance’s wife, Usha:

The religion you practice? President Trump’s daughter is Jewish, and her Jewish husband is one of President Trump’s most trusted and beloved advisors.

You are the one playing identity politics here, PP. And identity politics are a very racist thing to play.

Why exactly are you so racist, PP?

Our country just divided further yesterday.

Actually, given the popular vote for President, Senate and possibly House, I would respectfully disagree.

+1

They are just being nice but after you’ve revealed your true self to them they won’t forget.

Exactly.

We are way past that.

To those asking for unity... Did you see the Madison Square Garden event? Kamala was described as "Samoan-Malaysian", a whore, and the Anti-Christ. Puerto Ricans live on a floating pile of garbage. Hillary Clinton was described as a "sick SOB." And Trump talks about the enemy within and ruling like a dictator. We say that Trump is fascist because his own 4-star general chief of staff said he would rule like a fascist if reelected. We didn't make that up or use the term lightly. So now we're supposed to forgive and forget?

No, not interested in working with people who have shown that lining their pockets will always be more important than the rule of law, truth, and rights of others. Normalizing the hateful rhetoric of the right and their disregard for the law and facts is a bridge too far now.

No, I don’t want to hold hands with racists, sexists, or those who commit sexual assault. I don’t believe supporting a person like that is redeemable, either. I have no respect for DJT, will never refer to him as President, and am disgusted with his supporters and enablers.

As a woman with daughters, anyone who expressed support for men being called women and invading women's spaces was always against me.

Do you see how that works?

Get off your high horse and listen.
