HoCo dresses- Could they be any shorter

My DS got a week of detention when his date wore sneakers. Apparently they discussed the dress code the week before each dance and he forgot to tell his date that sneakers weren't allowed.

Acting like this is your daughters somehow showing agency and having body positivity is just dumb. They are sheep.

Exactly. Do the girls dress like this when it's an all-girl gathering? Or is it just when there are boys there?

Yes, they dress this way when it’s an all-girl gathering. Many of the groups are just girls and they don’t go to the dance. They take pictures and go out to eat. Not hanging out with boys.

Eww. What a weird comment.

while that is form fitting, at least they are wearing tights underneath, and a turtleneck/sweater.

They are wearing hose. Easy access to the goods. Lift and tear dotted line.

Agree - why is transparent hose more acceptable than bare legs? And the skirts are so short and the sweaters are very tight and form fitting. Plus decades ago.

My DD and her friends clearly dress for themselves and for each other. They spend hours getting ready for parties together at a friend's home, trying our different outfits, makeup and hair styles. Then go to the party for an hour, then go to a friend's house to all sleep over together. They actually don't dress up for dates so much, and don't seem particularly interested in what any of the boys think. And, while their dresses are shorter and lower cut than I might choose, this group of girls looks fabulous when they go out. The are happy, fit and proud of it, and have their own senses of style even though short skirts and dresses are pretty much staples. Then they meet up Sunday for study groups in their sweats and T-shirts. And they seem equally comfortable and at ease in party clothes and oversized sweatshirts. I think it's nice.

Yes…because dressing like an old frumpy lady in your teens is oh so much more confident…🙄🙄

THIS!!!! My daughter is the same baggy sweats and tees for school and when she and her boyfriend go out on dates and a short tight rockin’ dress when the occasion allows for it!

I find it odd that they all look the same. Long hair, short strapless dress - the only difference is hair and dress color. It’s like a creepy Stepford teen uniform. Same photo taken of a line of girls bent at the knee with their butts in the next girl’s groin. Have I just missed the social media photos with the kids who are creative and express themselves differently or do those kids just not go to homecoming dances?

Also some silly middle age cope. They are teens- they look great in everything. The issue is that they look too good and will receive attention that may not want.

Why are you looking at all of these teenage girls’ social media posts? Weirdo.

It’s my friend’s photos of their kids homecoming on FB that they are posting on social media. Where else would I see them?

Vile. Why are these posts allowed?

I’m just starting to have friends with kids old enough for homecoming and also noticed the uniformity of the look. Long hair worn down, short, tight, strapless dress, same line up and pose as described above for the girls. It was the same for homecomings in all different parts of the country. The only difference seemed to be the prevalence of sneakers. They were almost universally worn by girls in the western states and not as much on the East coast.

So we’re talking about dresses like this, right? For 15-year-olds?

Gross!
