Something about it makes these ladies feel uncomfortable inside. Maybe they didn’t have the confidence at that age or they truly believe men can’t control themselves when they see skin.

Your right it must be my issue that I don't want to be looking at someone's private parts when I am in public. My DC says the ones who wear it are the "pick me" girls.

Wouldn't be hilarious if the boys fashion came around to them walking around with their balls hanging out. Such body positivity....

Maybe encourage your kid not to engage in misogyny like calling girls “pick me” girls.

Most girls actually shorts underneath.

Acting like this is your daughters somehow showing agency and having body positivity is just dumb. They are sheep.

Not sure why some keep trying to deny the facts, it looks terrible on anyone who doesn't look like Kate Moss.
Just say it's one for the teenage bad choice book and stop trying to say its misogyny (eye roll) or body shaming (give me a break).
We all have made bad fashion choices.

To the parents whose kids have these dresses and Hoco is coming up- please at least make your kid wear boy shorts under so we don't have to stare at their privates all evening.

Let's be honest.. a lot of those dresses look like what a prostitute would wear.

+1. It seems like 95% of these posters do not have a teenager daughter but they sure have a lot of opinions on teenage girls.

I have a teenage daughter. She is a good person AND she has enough self respect to not dress like this. (And if she wanted to I wouldn’t allow it.)

Why does it have to be either/or with some of you? Black and white thinking to the extreme.

Those of you who are defending these dresses: is there a limit for you? Like maybe if you can see nipples or butt cheeks? I’m seeing photos that come very close to this, and I’m struggling to imagine all the moms out there actually buying these for their daughters.

I say it not because of the dress but because of the degrading language that’s being used.
