Yeah they’re just rinsing.

Same way they “wash” the dishes.

Rinsy, rinsy. Done.

lol
Caught my daughter doing this too. Just like her dad- wetting the dirty dishes in water and brushing them w the brush. That’s all!

Not as bad as when he takes the dirty oily kettle, fills it with hot water and soap, puts all the used dishes in the oily water, then rinses them off. Puts them to dry and never sees the oil and food still everywhere.

And this is a stem dude who’s taken chemistry and physics multiple levels.

There are TikTok videos with people admitting they didn't know how to *properly shower* until called out. A little rub of bar soap or body wash isn't cleaning. How will bacteria and grime get off of your body if it isn't rubbed off? People, you've GOT to use something more than fingertips to properly clean. Between toes, behind ears, back of the neck, behind the knees, all of it! And dry THOROUGHLY.

This needs to happen daily, especially for teens, kids playing sports.
**This is also why kids stay sick. Getting in bed with all of the days germs all over their body to permeate their sheets. Yuck.

And you let this ride? And eat off the dishes?

Why is your kettle oily? I’m confused.

He’s a very big boy (tall and chubby) and DS says he doesn’t bathe frequently and you can tell. It goes beyond just body odor and is weeks of stink.

He is self conscious about his size so wears lots of heavy, thick clothes and sweats like mad.

We adore this kid. He’s a great friend but the smell permeates my furniture and lingers constantly.

DS and other friends have gently told him numerous times he needs to shower daily but apparently once a week is the best he’ll manage.

Family life is stable. Lives in a large home with many similar ages siblings and step siblings but he has his own room and access to privacy and shower.

He probably is depressed a bit but also a bit lazy.

I assume I can’t do anything about it. My poor nose.

Does he have adhd? Low self care, not aware of how others perceived him, overweight all of these can be hfa or adhd. In any case, as they old song goes, you have to be cruel to be kind.
You shouldnt say anything but his friends need to tell him if he doesn't shower every single day, he will smell bad to others. Boys usually flame each other for unacceptable behavior by this age so I'm surprised they haven't gotten through to him yet.
I've met literally miðle aged adults with adhd who are unaware they smell. Getting it through his head now will Dave home years of being ostracized
