Bus driver playing Christian Music

Which doesn’t apply in this case, anyway.

The school bus is an extension of the school house. Imagine if the principal decided to play Christian or Islamic or Jewish music over the speakers. It is unacceptable any way you look at it.

Again, this is not a Christian private school and the bus driver is an employee of the public school system.

You know damn well all these people calling OP snowflake or otherwise discounting her views because it's against christianity would flip their SH*T if the driver was playing islamic music or prayers. But I'd wager that a muslim or jew would have more self awareness to NOT do that at a public school.

Why are christians always trying to skirt the rules and play victim when called out?

+1. Or imagine the driver was loudly playing an atheist podcast. The phone lines would be on fire

A school that played islam or atheist radio would probably have bomb threats against it from trumpers

Drive your kid to school.

My bus driver in the 80's smoked while driving, and music (generally rock or metal) was provided by a student holding a boom box in his lap. He would also go over certain parts of the road at higher speeds so we could catch air and be tossed out of our seats.

Have your kid wear earbuds.

My kid is taking a little nap or talking to friends or on the phone watching tik Tok. They could care less what the bus driver is listening to. It’s usually pretty old on the bus. Is your kid a Karen like you? May you should drive you kid to school instead.

I wonder if OP is the same person that posted about being upset that the custodian got a jeep.

Have you heard the Christian music they play on the radio? Everyone is being harmed by this, even the Christians.

Really? Please point out where these lyrics hurt you.
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
Yeah
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine, yeah-yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine

The PP is just saying the music is bad. It’s not good. It’s cheesy and superficial and most uses the same three or four chords. It’s literally designed to reach soccer moms. I generally only listen to Christian music but won’t listen to Christian radio.

Always racist remarks if it doesn’t support the Christian Karen’s and Michael’s of the worlds

Great song!

I’m sorry that terrible thing happened to your kid. Is DC a freshman? If so don’t worry, later this year DC will get to read a well-reviewed award-winning poetry book in English where there are passages describing make erection, masturbation, and conversation about tampon use that you’ll surely find to be much more appropriate.

Retired and got a job driving a school bus in the suburbs. He loved the little kids, but those middle schoolers nearly did him in. And that was years ago, before the uptick in behavioral issues.

Just saying, if playing Christian music helps your kids’ bus driver get through his routes, count your blessings and cut him some slack.

So you can't be unbiased and see the view from a different POV? So gross.

I’m saying it’s a really hard job that doesn’t pay a lot. Life is imperfect. The idea that school kids can’t handle music that references a different religion than their own is absurd, and op’s school could lose a good driver if she complains.

I’m sure gatehouse admins will really appreciate you chasing off the one out of a zillion people they have been able to convince to do this job simply because his music choice might expose your child to hope for eternity. Even if you happen to think that’s a sham or a lie, the radio station literally markets itself as encouraging music so there’s not even any damnation to go with. Just hopeful gratitude and positivity.

Are they a decent bus driver? If they are, I wouldn't care what sort of music they played as long as it wasn't outright hateful.

-agnostic Jewish parent.

Are you the same person with a college kid complaining about Christian groups on campus? Teach your child tolerance and that not everyone believes the same thing you do.

There is an extreme shortage of bus drivers. Let it go.

Grow up. And celebrate diversity.

You are living in a Judeo-Christian country. Your kid will encounter people with all types of religious backgrounds.
Let it go.

The bus driver works a challenging, low pay, job and is just trying to get through the day.
