I have a non-Christian teen. A bus driver listening to Christian music would not make her feel marginalized at all. |
I find loud music obnoxious in any setting. My issue would be the volume. I would ask the bus driver to turn it down a bit as it’s really loud. I don’t really care what music a bus driver listens to, but no need to blast it. |
I have a non-Christian teen who actively practices a different religion. A bus driver listening to Christian music would make her feel marginalized. |
Well tell your child they live in a diverse society with people of many different faiths and backgrounds. They should think positively of the opportunity to be exposed to people who think differently than they do. |
People are fascinating. Can you explain further why it would make her feel marginalized? Does other religious stuff make her feel the same or is Christian music her biggest trigger? Are there non-religious interactions that also make her feel marginalized? |
Suck it up. The employee had a right to listen to the music they want to listen to. Maybe your kid will learn something. |
Probably not, but this is a Christian country. |
PP just wanted to inject race into the discussion for some weird reason. Blacks are all seventh day advenists anyway. So it’s a dumb hypothetical. |
Huh? Listening to Christian music when you are not Christian makes her feel marginalized? Really? You need to work on your parenting skills. You need to work on your kid’s self esteem. You need to have a talk with her and find out what the issues are. She shouldn't allow things like this to make her feel marginalized. She needs help. |
This is so hilarious.
Most schools have prayer rooms. Who do you thinks these rooms are for? Is there a crucifix hanging in them? Nope. |
+1, this has nothing to do with her. She comes off, pretty entitled by making it about her |
Fascinating. I had no idea. https://www.fcps.edu/religious-accommodations-schools-students#:~:text=Students%20are%20only%20permitted%20to,%2C%20meditation%2C%20and%20silent%20reflection. This one has a boys side and a girls side. https://thewpwire.org/7367/features/student-life/universal-prayer-room-open-for-ramadan/ |
I am agnostic and would not be bothered by this, frankly.
|
Do you get as upset when your kid is present during the reciting of the pledge of allegiance "under God" part?
(Personally think "under God" was a mistake when it was added in the 1950s and should be removed... but not bothered by this bus driver) |
Leave that poor bus driver alone! Do you know how much crap he has to deal with? He probably needs Jesus just to stay sane during his work day. |
