Bus driver playing Christian Music

Anonymous
OP, it shouldn't be done. It bothers me on a number of levels: certainly I can't believe it wouldn't be part of training to know not to play a Christian Station. A Religious Station. Or a station/song w/obscene lyrics. It's too bad the individual chooses to do the wrong thing. No desire to show some class and sophistication.

Have you heard the Christian music they play on the radio? Everyone is being harmed by this, even the Christians.

Wait…what? What Christian music is harming anyone?

Bus drivers are quitting. There are school districts that have such a bus driver shortage they need to stop providing busses to the entire district for the year. Please do not put us on that path with a needless complaint.

You're thick. I'm saying that Christian music they play on the radio is terrible.

OP, stop looking for a fight. Our country has enough anger right now. Tell your kid to wear ear buds.

Bus driver is listening to radio station of their choice, and does not appear to be teaching an early morning Biblical study on wheels class.

No one is being harmed by mosques in communities, but yet you and your ilk protest against them and harass attendees. Why can't we just follow separation of church and state while in a public school setting? Why must christians try and break the rules and then play victim?

What a terrible, fallacious argument.

Once again: you don’t know what separation of church and state means.

Really? Please point out where these lyrics hurt you.
I can only imagine
What it will be like
When I walk by Your side
I can only imagine
What my eyes would see
When Your face is before me
I can only imagine
Yeah
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for You Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When that day comes
And I find myself
Standing in the Son
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
Surrounded by Your glory
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine

Will I stand in your presence
Or to my knees, will I fall?
Will I sing hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine, yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine, yeah-yeah
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
I can only imagine
When all I will do
Is forever, forever worship You
I can only imagine

I’m a Christian and think the music on WGTS (probably the station in question, here) is terrible.

can you not think of the bigger picture?

Anonymous wrote:Many drivers listen to religious music and display items of religious significance in the front of their vehicles, such as a cross or crucifix hanging from the rearview mirror, an idol of God on the dashboard, or a sticker with a religious quote. These items serve as reminders of their faith and believe their existence inside the vehicle to provide protection for a safe and uneventful journey for themselves and their passengers. This is common practice across public and private transportation all over the world.

Kids need to be taught to be tolerant to others' beliefs. If the volume is unusually loud, maybe request they lower it a bit, without offending the driver.

OP said it was extremely loud. How is that not offensive in an enclosed space?

Tolerance of what and whom? In my opinion, teaching tolerance here = standing up for the kids on the bus that are not Christian.

And I wholly disagree! Be tolerant, you hypocritical Dem. At least it's not a Muslim call to prayer.

Same poster here. The complaint against the bus driver is valid. He shouldn't be playing it. Should we fire a bus driver over this? I guess since they are so hard to hire, I personally would not. It is a black-eye, though, on FCPS.

FCPS does not have a good record of honoring The Separation of Church and State.
