They are a state title contender in football as is BF and have kids not showing up for VEL. Langley has the most complete team with their fall roster. As always, VEL and Fall Brawl are good for reps but TSO is usually the best indicator for spring season once all kids are done with fall sports and get a full day of full field lax.
PP here. Do you have an opinion on the Madison goalie situation? My take is the the loss of Madison’s fantastic LSM will put way more pressure on the goalie.
From the limited amount I saw last year and on Saturday, I would think they have JAG- just a guy(s).
Nothing stood out, serviceable if you have an above average D. Not what Battlefield had last year or even close.
That’s my take too. But it seems like their D has taken a couple graduation hits. So to my mind unless you see someone take a big step up the goalie situation goes from problematic to serious
Only other way to hide a suspect goalie is to have a good Fogo and wings. I don’t see this from the warhawks either. Maybe they need to slow down the game and play to win close one. I believe they can do that.
You might be right. Luckily for Madison they have a long runway to figure it out. Does anyone have a rundown on the Concorde district? From what I know they’re pretty much the only team in that district
Madison will be fine. They have a first team all-region pole and first team all-region SSDM coming back and a couple of other 2025 poles who are pretty good. Goalie has two years of varsity experience and was the starter on the state championship team in 2023 I believe. He has played in plenty of big games and is good enough.
Rest of Concorde was pretty bad last season. Chantilly was probably the next best but I can't see them taking a big leap. Oakton was very reliant on that #3 and he graduated. Would guess Madison will run away with it again.
PVI crushed Madison at Vel today. I believe the score was 15-0. Despite the score I thought that Madison looked good defensively - solid defense, fairly good clears, even a fair amount of caused turnovers. The Madison goalies were not super stars but did a servicible job.
But the Madison offense was practically nonexistent- i’d love to see the stats for the day but from my point of view it seems like Madison had less than 10 shots on goal. Of those no more than three were on cage and none with enough power to get by the goalie. But more devastating than that, the Madison offense turned the ball over so quickly that the defense hardly had a chance to get back into position after a clear.
