Read today’s NYT magazine on South Sudan. It may adjust your skewed perception of good and evil. |
Evil can be very banal, as banal as voting for an evil person who wants to destroy democracy. |

I hate Trump.
Don't love his supporters. But he is evil. |
There is an inherent nastiness in conservatism that he provides an outlet for. Conservatives are generally inconsiderate, possess an overblown sense of entitlement, and have very little interest in the welfare of others.
They usually have an every man for himself attitude, and resent having to assist others or having to modify their behavior for the benefit of others. While Trump is a worthless human being, he is far from alone. He’s just a vehicle. |
OP, where were you when Hillary Clinton made the "basket of deplorables" speech?
I actually disagree heartily, though. Trump's a cult-like leader and his followers have no idea how much he despises them and to what extent he does not have their best interest in mind. He looks for the worst sentiments in people and uses them to generate noise and excitement. I might disagree with everything MAGA people stand for but I can also appreciate that they are being manipulated and tricked by Donald Trump, after being publicly loathed and despised by the Clinton and others. There are lots of problems in this country but Trump is the single biggest. |
But isn’t your core filled with rage! |
What was your excuse before Jane 6 though? |
Oh, you liberals have an interest in the welfare of others ("invest" in them) as long as you don't have to pay for it yourselves. Because of you democrats, we have a very progressive tax system where half the population pays nothing in income taxes. You certainly work to assist yourselves by demanding others pay everything ("invest") for you. |

I don’t like Trump or his supporters but I like his policies.
I’ll vote for him just off a strictly policy basis. |
But we do pay for it and don’t resent it like conservatives do. |
You pay for it with other people's money, not your own. |
How is it democracy to throw out the millions of votes for Biden in the primary and putting in a candidate that no one voted for but is supported by elites and the powerful? |
Whose money is that? I pay a lot of taxes. Besides, it’s not just about taxes, it’s more about the self-serving personality type that is common among conservative. |
